Anyone watching this? Stephen Fry is a genius, he must have photographic memory.

Its an intelligent quiz show presented by Stephen Fry and all the participants are comedians. You find out really interesting/trivial things while the line up make it a hilarious experience. Great show to watch if you go to pub quizzes.

As well as being funny and informative they also love busting myths. Example; "What rhymes with Orange?" Alan: "Nothing" Sirens buzz and he loses 10 points as there are two words that rhyme with orange, Borange(place in Wales) and I can't remember the other one.

What is the only ball game that was invented entirely in America. "Baseball?" Sirens go off. Basketball but it was a Canadian. Although they give someone points for saying netball.

They set a lot of traps like this, if its "pathetically obvious" and not correct, you get deducted 10 points, so they always plan out what answers will be given to each question. A good one was when Stephen Fry talking about skin being the largest human organ and Alan Davis, the only permanent participant said something along the lines of "Speak for yourself" and the sirens went off as they knew he would make a dick joke.

You might need to have some knowledge of the UK to get some of the references but its a great show, I just start watching it 2 days ago and I'm in love.

They've tried to show it in the US but it costs too much as the copyrights were only bought for UK, they will show it when a company forks over enough money. Its hugely successful in the UK and Ireland.

Great show, one of Britain's best. Comedy quiz/panel game shows > corny sketch shows (i.e. SNL).

More great British panel shows:

- Never Mind The Buzzcocks
- Have I Got News For You
- 8 Out of 10 Cats
- Shooting Stars
- Mock The Week

And on the radio:

- I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue
- Just a Minute
- Whose Line Is It Anyway?

If you like QI you'll probably enjoy the above.

Love QI and Stephen Fry.

Agree with most of this.

Lamarr or Amstell as hostof Buzzcocks? Bill Bailey or Noel Fielding as captain?

Radio 4 comedies are all golden although quintessentially British.

Is this a serious or hypothetical question?

I say Amstell and Bailey.

Lamarr is a classic host, but Amstell was so unafraid to be unabashedly rude to the guests, his humour really added a new dynamic to the show, shame he left.

Bailey is just funnier than Fielding in general, on panel shows at least.

Has anyone seen the Bubble? I love the host (David Mitchell) but the concept seems weak, I watched once and wasn't inclined to watch again.

I love Buzzcocks and Have I got news for you. I haven't seen British TV since 2006 so I don't know if much has changed in quality etc. Never seen the rest of them, seen a few youtube videos of Mock of the week, all from the "jokes that make you go ohhhhhhhh" videos.
Bill Baileys great.

Never really noticed him before that. Check out Part II Jimmy Carr's ending joke is brilliant.

Heh, I just watched that, pretty awesome. I saw him live a few years ago and half the show was stuff like that.

It's not a panel show but Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe/Newswipe is definitely worth a watch.
