Here's Roger Ebert's review:

I'm a big fan of Gervais, but I kind of hated Ghost Town or whatever it was called and thus had really low expectations for this film. I was pleasantly surprised - I still didn't completely love it, but it was enjoyable and pretty funny.

I totally didn't expect the Christianity angle, and it was pretty damn hilarious. I know that Ricky is an outspoken atheist but I was surprised to see such an anti-religious message in an American film.

Watched about 3 minutes of this movie. Couldn't stand it.

I find it funny that people either love or hate this movie. Even the reviews on rotten tomatoes have such a wide difference in opinion.

I found it quite witty. The middle parts kind of dragged, but i liked it.

It was painful at times (intentionally) but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm also a big Gervais and Louis CK fan. Ben Affleck is a douche for being awesome enough to bag Jennifer Garner. Lots of good cameo's as well. (Tina Fey, Jeffery Tambor, etc)

I think Napolean Dynamite is another movie with no in-between. BTW, I hate Napolean Dynamite.
