I saw this last night (in 3D) and itwas as good as expected (if not more (? more good? (oh I'd better stop (better is right)))

It's quite fun. 3D is berry good.

Don't we need to know what you expected now?

It was berry berry good to me

Also, after you watch, answer me this

Is the courtyard where the party is happening at the beginning the same from History of the World Part I (where we meet Count de Monet and they have the chess board thing. In Alice it's a dance floor)

What is the youngest you think a child could be to watch this?

When I saw they were coming out with this I was excited, but then when I saw the Johnny Depp was playing his crazy character, I didn't want to really see it anymore. Am I wrong about this?

I've never been a big Tim Burton fan. Doubly so when he teams with Johnny Depp (who I generally like when not associated with Burton).

This is probably a good project for him, but I think I'll likely pass.

It's OK, you're probably still high on the 'shrooms...

Planning to see it this week.

I've always wanted a shirt with the classic Alice illustration below, only instead of the bottle she would be holding the cake and the caption would be really large, like so:

EAT ME

Saw it in 3D, it was, ok.

The story was decent enough and the special effects were pretty good. I especially like the cheshire cat.

The effects didn't impress me at all. It seems about 1 in 10 scenes was completely CGI, and those 3D scenes looked great. But I feel like the rest of the 3D effects were just normal shots, edited to make closer object sharp and further objects blurry. It didn't feel very authentic for me, when sometimes the effects were good but most of the time they were meh. It was no avatar, effects-wise.

I was (really) high, and it was an above average experience, even with what I've said above.

wondering about this as well..I am thinking its not for my 5 year old, as the preview had some semi scary stuff for young kids.
Jeepster80125
Not a kids movie imo. But I have no idea where the cutoff would be.

There were some disturbing images and it's definitely not for young kids.

Read the synopsis here. That's a fairly messed up story. I'll stop commenting on kids questions though, since I don't have any.

For what it's worth, Netflix rates it as for ages 11+. (The Disney version was rated for 4+.)

Wasn't that 4+ hits of acid?

It seems very weird to me that you put spoiler tags around that comment. And I just watched a movie with a floating cat.

I wasn't sure how people would view info that could be interpreted as a spoiler.

No reason really, it's easy to do, and removes all doubt. I just didn't want anyone to read that and think, 'damn, that's a spoiler.'. Sometimes, bitches be hatin'.

If it matters, I'm (really) high, again.
