it got sort of quashed a little, but I think Chicago would jump all over that.

I think Florida would be crazy to make that trade.

In a heartbeat. They have no need for Crawford and a very big need to move Huet and Versteeg, and Vokoun is the big game goalie that they badly need to make a run at the Cup this year.

That said, I don't see Florida taking on Huet and his salary. They're trying to rid themselves of bad contracts, not take more on.

The strange thing is, Florida doesnt even need Crawford, who is a nice part of the trade.

Here's the thing with any Chicago deal....they need to shed salary/Huet. What team would take Huet?

I honestly believed the Leafs would have been a good destination for Huet til they got Giggy.

Versteeg+Huet for a player like Poni. Essentially, a salary dump for Chicago, Leafs get Versteeg, a real Burke type.

Honestly, I dont think Florida has any bad contracts. I dont see anyone who is grossly overpaid on that team.

I think they are trying to get rid of certain attitudes or players, for whatever reason.

Even in a salary dumb, that isn't enough of a return to Chicago. I think the Florida deal could work out, but Chicago would have to sweeten it significantly. At minimum add another good prospect and a 2nd.

Maybe a CHI-BOS deal is in the works. Boston may be looking to move Thomas. I know they just extended his contract but Rask looks to be developing faster than they expected.

That Olesz deal is pretty bad, but I guess that's the only real eyesore. Everyone else is pretty in-line.

Eklund says that Hamhuis is obviously being moved...Toronto as one of the teams rumoured..Obviously it wont happen since he said it.

I'm surprised at this too. Though it's one of the reasons I traded Franson in the FCHL, I was always hearing rumours about the Preds wanting more D. Seems like they're not confident in Franson and Blum, especially with Roussel and Ellis there too. Probably not it, but it gave me a bad feeling.

I'm surprised "only" a 2nd for Grebeshkov, but I guess if it's near the top of the draft, that is solid.
