Another story from the Biatch:

So I don't know if any of you know this. But I curl, it's pretty fun. I started about three years ago with some university friends and am just in love with it. I dont' care what anybody says, its a pretty awesome sport. The sweeping, the throwing, meeting people, the drinking after, everything is awesome. I curl about three times a week, twice is just with fun with some buddies, and then once a week I play in a mixed league (2 boys, 2 girls).

There's this really awkward story though that happened last Sunday. Usually it's just a bunch of me and my buddies who rent the ice and then play. Sometimes, some random's will show up though, which is fine, the more the merrier imo. Plus it's cheaper for us, if they join us, since we split it more. Anyways, so there's this new girl there. She is for some reason really abrasive, which isn't good at all for curling or my friends. We're all pretty low key, and this new chick is like loud, complains, cheers really loud, not very sportsmanlike, and just not really a good fit. But we can't really tell her to go away.

Anyways, for some reason she says something wrong to one of my friends (who is also a girl). Well we'll call this crazy girl a random name, we'll say Rhonda because that sounds awful. And we'll call my friend, Jennifer, because that sounds normal. Anyways, Jennifer isn't the best sweeper in the world, and Rhonda yells at her for not sweeping hard enough. First of all, this isn't the Brier or the Scotties, so chill. And second, you just don't yell like that at your own teammates, its like common courtesy. Especially in curling. It's suppose to be relaxed. Well my friend Jennifer takes exception and they began to jaw at each other. I play peacemaker, and calm everybody down.

Now it's extremely tense between everybody. And Rhonda seems to only talk to me, because nobody else is talking to her. Now she shoots her shot, and her pants rip. Yes, thats right her pants rip. I don't know. But they rip. Completely f*cking awkward. Jennifer starts laughing. My buddies are trying so hard to not laugh. Rhonda looks like she is about to cry and looks at me like I can magically fix all this. My buddies look at me excited to see how this finishes, like Vinnie on Jersey Shore when Pauly-D is talking on the duck phone about that Jewish stalker girl. I then can't help it and just burst out laughing and run away but slip because I forget I still have my slider on. I slip and fall on my knee. But I have so much adrenalin from the laughing, I get up and run out of the rink giggling like a 12 yr old private school Japanamation girl, but with one leg bc my knee hurts from falling.

I ended up just going to the club bar and having a drink with the club owner. He said I'm an idiot but that I made him laugh. I guess he watched the whole thing. So yeah, that was my day.

And oh yeah small bet on Krista McArville right now against Manitoba, and then tonight I got a big bet on Jennifer Jones to beat Team PEI. PEI is overrated at the #1 seed, and I think Jones will destroy her. It's a shame she didn't make the olympics.

I really like that line. And any bet on Jennifer Jones is a good one, she is a cutie. I think.

My friend and co-worker is curling right now. Nova Scotia is having the provincial playdowns for the spot in the Brier. They're a new team, but won a couple tournaments, and were a surprise to even make the tourney. They just lost, but are 3-1 in a triple-knockout tournament.

That's pretty sick dude. John Morris is from the rink that I curl at. He is the third for Team Canada. Jennifer Homan and her team also curl at my dink, and they just won the juniors for Canada, and will be competing in the worlds.

The PEI Team is probably the hottest team. That's why I bet against them. Jennifer Jones is hot, but she needs to lose a few pounds.

Having access to CBC my whole life here in the States has given me the ability to enjoy curling. They have place to do it near my house but I can never find anyone who wants to try it. Looks like fun.

Huge win for McCarville, nice win for my bankroll. Have a nice chunk of change riding tonight on Jones. She was -110 when I bet her, and now it's at about -150. Feeling reallly good about it. But PEI has so many hot girls.

Just want to say Vic Rauter is the shit. I f*cking love him.

No. No no no. There's like 5 of them, and 3 are on the Jones team. Unless that's what you meant.

what do you mean 5?

There are 3 good looking girls on the PEI team. The only good girl on the Jones team is her, and maybe the lead.

I went on vacation in PEI once and met an amazingly hot girl in the beach house over from ours. Turns out she was on vacation too, so while she wasn't a native hot girls can go in and out of PEI with ease.
Ottawa_Biatch
Erin Carmody is hot but she doesn't seem to be handling the pressure shots right now. She made that nice when Jones lying 5. Tied 2-2 right now, but seems Jones has been dominating. Dawn Askin needs to pick it up though.

We used to have a standing treasure hunt running in my old house, it went on for years. You got a set amount of points for bringing us things like street signs, bottles of decent liquor, it was a good way for new people to feel like they were fitting in (my house was the party house for my friends and all of their friends for like 6 years).

One of the most coveted items on the ever-expanding list of "wants" was a regulation curling rock. No one ever brought us one though, sadly. No one ever brought us a fire hydrant either.

Yeah, those things are f'ing expensive. Plus it isn't like a bowling ball where people have their own, they'll always belong to the club. But you probably knew that. Damn heavy too.

I actually researched curling over Christmas when my Mom dragged me to her old ladies weekly curling game, lol, and I needed a ride home or something, but had to stay there for an hour, so I spent most of it on my phone on Wikipedia.

Apparently there's only one kind of rock that can be used for curling stones, and it's really rare or something. Something like that.

It's granite. It's not rare.

Well then the granite has to come from somewhere special, damnit.

Going to Wiki now. Will be back with links/quotes.

QUOTE
The Scots, in particular, believe that the best-quality curling stones are made from a specific type of granite called "ailsite," found on the Ailsa Craig, an island off the Ayrshire coast. According to the Scottish Curling Stone Company, Ailsite has very low water absorption, which prevents the action of freezing and melting water from eroding the stone.[12] In the past, most curling stones were made from this granite. However, the island is now a wildlife reserve and is no longer used for quarrying. Because of the particular rarity of Ailsite, costs for curling stones can reach as much as US$1,500 for the best stones.[citation needed] Many curling clubs use a lower-grade stone that can cost upwards of $500.[citation needed] There are also stones that use a disc with a running surface of Ailsite attached below another type of granite. Very informal neighbourhood curling clubs with limited resources may make cylindrical "curling stones" out of concrete-filled cans or bowls. Kays of Scotland has been making curling stones since 1851 and has the exclusive rights to Ailsa Craig granite as granted by the Marquess of Ailsa, whose family has owned the island since 1560. The last "harvest" of Ailsa Craig granite by Kays took place in 2002, yielding 200 tons (note: Kays' statement is that they harvested 1500 tons, sufficient to fill anticipated orders through at least 2020). Kays of Scotland has been the exclusive manufacturer of curling stones for all three Olympics where curling has been a medal sport.[13] Pictures of the official Olympic curling stone are available on Kays' website.[14]

I still want a curling stone.

I so am, and like to see Canada win in any event, except hockey. Then I hope they lose.

I'll be in Canada in May, taking a cruise which stops in Victoria, BC and Vancouver. Sadly, my number one priority is finding a Tim Hortons.

They have Timmy's all over the NE USA now. Wendy's owns it.

I haven't been to BC since I was like 2, but if it's anything like Ontario, there'll be one on pretty much every corner.

I know they are in the East, sadly haven't been near one. So being in Canada that's all exciting to me. I'm going to try to be in a bar to watch the playoffs in Canada. I'm gonna cry though if it's the Kings at home.

They do. One of the few sports played on ice with sex appeal.

PEI has a very very sexy team. Jennifer Jones is hot too.

As for the acctual sport of curling: meh, if their is nothing else on ill watch willingly

F*cking right. Won both my bets last nite.

I have a small bet on Ontario the #4 seed to beat BC the #3 seed this afternoon. Krista has been playing amazing, and Kelly Scott annoys the shit out of me.

I didn't read this thread last time around because it looked long and I was busy, then I forgot about it.

Just wanted to say, great story as usual Biatch, and others feel free to keep posting nude curlers!
