Seeing the Lost thread made me realize that 24 is just around the corner. In fact, 24: Season 8 starts even sooner as Jack's first 4 hours being on January 17. I'm not sure if there's anything "new" they can really do with the show anymore but my mancrush on Jack Bauer will keep me watching til the series ends.
Season 8 TrailerI found a long trailer from ComicCon but it's crappy quality so I won't bother posting it.

Definitely start at season 1. If you enjoyed last season enough that you want to watch more, then you will be blown away by the earlier seasons. In other words, last season was a bit over the shark. I guess if you hadn't seen earlier seasons though then you wouldn't be annoyed by the same things happening again.
I would just start at season 1 and go from there. Season 5 is also really good, but season 6 is like Godfather III - people just pretend it didn't happen.

Yep, her character has something to prove.
Not a bad first 4 hours. We all know the show has degenerated somewhat from a few years ago, but it still beats most crap on TV.
Storylines seem ok. I'm a little curious what's up with Dana (Jenny)'s goofy redneck jailbird ex and how/if he's gonna fit into the storyline. She obv has a past she wants to stay covered up. Is she a mole inside CTU or is she straight now but her past will get leaked and make her look like a mole?
Glad to see a lot of Chloe.
Agreed that Kim looked as crappy as she did last season. Don't think we're gonna see a ton of her anyway this season. She's doing another show on NBC.

He sways back and forth swinging his club to get into a groove when he's chipping, then in mid groove swing he steps forward to hit the ball. Problem is he always accelerated his swing when it came to actually hitting the ball, so the whole groove thing is a major leak in his game.
Plus he hates the Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory restaurant chains.

for some reason I thought the ex-bf was going to mistakenly take something important to the nuke storyline.
re: prez slaying. naww...the show needs white house stability. it's what made the first 5 seasons so strong and what made it so painful to see Palmer die. there need to be more constants in Jack's life which is why I'm glad they brought back Renee.

I'm still watching. It's insanely up-and-down. Long portions of the show are frankly awful, but this isn't a new thing. But whenever I'm ready to give up they come with a great action scene. The action scenes are still really good.
The whole thing with Starbuck and her hidden secret identity and her moron-ex-boyfriend is terrible, and just seems unnecessary. Like really, today of all days!? Come on!
I'm also not sure I love the decision to cast Freddie Prinze Jr. as a killer-sniper-motherfucker.

As a long time 24 fan, this season is... decent, pretty much on par with the last couple seasons. I don't find myself getting super pumped up for each new episode like I used to though.
The Dana/Jenny storyline is terrible though. I fail to understand how somebody who was apprantly smart enough to change her identity, as well as get a high level job at CTU, can make such mind-numbingly poor decisions.
