WASHINGTON, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army psychiatrist charged with killing 13 people at Fort Hood donated $20,000 to $30,000 annually to foreign Islamic charities, investigators say.
They also said Major Nidal Malik Hasan may have been worried he would test positive for the HIV virus, ABC News reported. ABC reporters said they found Combivir, a drug used to treat AIDS and sometimes kept on hand by doctors because of the risk of being infected by a needle stick, in his apartment.
A colleague at Fort Hood reportedly told investigators about the AIDS worry.
The investigation has determined Hasan was a strict Muslim with an interpretation of its laws so strict he did not believe in insuring his car. The money he sent to charities came out of a salary of $92,000 a year.
The U.S. government considers some Islamic charities fronts for terrorist groups.
But employees at a strip club in Killeen, Texas, the town next to Fort Hood, said Hasan was a regular there. The club features dancers in the buff.
When Hasan was being trained at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, supervisors there said they found him difficult with behavior that was often strange.

Just wondering if you think the headlines would be different if this man was a Baptist, who shouted "Jesus Saves" while shooting everyone?
He is in three of the most PC protected groups right now, a gay Muslim who voted for Obama, so the left will do their best to ignore this story, or at least focus attention on things not related to his religious beliefs, his apparent issues with HIV and his professed disappointment with Obama for not following through with his campaign promises to end the war quickly.
In the mean time the Obama WH is focusing on the military for following the status quo of not 'profiling' Muslims who talk about the wrongness of America for invading a Muslim country.
So sad that good people had to die because of this "Let's give the angry Muslims a chance to get to know us, then they will lay down their Jihad and be happy to eat at McDonalds" attitude the left wants to promote.
They have even taken the side that terrorist caught in the act in battle deserve to come to New York city to have lawyers try them in court.
They have switched the "war on terror" to the "law enforcement issue with people who murder in cold blood". Many people believe that it was because of this attitude pre 9-11 that allowed 9-11.
