I thought this would be cool..Every time we go to a game we post it, and report a small trip report..
I know Zach , John and some others go to a ton of games every year....
I think for it to count you have to go as a fan, and not a member of the media....
Ill start it off:
Going to the Leafs game tomorrow night vs Ottawa...Very excited to see the new Leafs play...
Went to an exbition game, but obviously its not the same. I dont recall ever seeing seeing the Sens play here...Did go to a Leafs game in Kanata though.
Go Leafs go

Great thread idea....for once, haha!
I'm going October 28th to Montreal at Pittsburgh and will take pictures/give a full report. I want to head down early for warm ups, because my special lady friend that got me the tickets for my birthday has never been down early for a game. I also haven't been that early in years, so it will be good for me too.

My first game of the year is one week from today, Penguins @ Senators.
I'm also a "season ticket holder" as I got a 20-ticket pack this year, so I'll also be going to the following games:
Oct 12 - Pens @ Sens
Oct 24 - Bruins @ Sens
Nov 10 - Oilers @ Sens
Nov 19 - Pens @ Sens
Nov 23 - Caps @ Sens
Dec 16 - Sabres @ Sens
Jan 19 - Hawks @ Sens
Jan 21 - Blues @ Sens
Mar 2 - Rangers @ Sens
Mar 16 - Leafs @ Sens
And, I also have tickets to two games in Montreal:
Dec 10 - Pens @ Habs
Feb 6 - Pens @ Habs

was at Sharks-Ducks on saturday. lots of sharks fans. more than when I go to Staples where you also see quite a lot of Sharks fans.
the Honda center is quite nice. we sat on row F for the upper level which is fairly high up but still pretty good. $40 per ticket so you can't complain about that.
I don't remember too much about the game since I had a few beers before the game, a few during and another after but I do remember there were maybe 2 offside calls and 1 icing call all game. the ducks didn't seem to show up at all. it felt like 75% of the play was in the Duck's zone.
I found out later that there was a goal where all three rookies got their first point. pretty darn cool I'd say.

Rangers/Ottawa opening night
Building was loud. I have been to nine straight openers and this was the first time that they did not introduce the players one by one. They all came out together as a team, skated to center ice and saluted the fans. Blue man group came out and performed before the game. Of course they got a "Lets go Rangers " chant going
As far as the game, it was pretty even through a period and a half but Lundqvist was the difference. Dubinsky was the best player on the ice. Gaborik looked fast. Great to see Del Zotto shooting the puck from the point on the PP and he had a screened goal to show for it. With six minutes to go, I said to my buddy, if the game stays 4-1 with four minutes to go, then look out for Brashear. Sure enough he came out and lost his fight. Voros came out with a minute left and pummelled the Ottawa player (not sure who)

I always wonder which is better:
Living in hockey crazed Toronto and not being able to go to too many games due to cost and avalibility or living in a market where they give you 4 tickets , buffet, and a blowjob for $50..
We have had both cases with the Blue Jays here, and while its convenient to go to Jays games now, I was going to way more when it was sold out.
I choose the Leafs scenario, but interesting to see what other think. I know some of you live in markets that allow you to go to more games cheaply...

I wish I lived in a market that game me 4 tickets for $50 and I don't even need the BJ.
But I will take a winning franchise I guess over affordable tickets so I have no reason to complain. I get to around 4 games and year and that is cool with me.

i am lucky enough to have connections and get a lot of free tickets..But i also pay for nosebleeds..Bought 3 games off a buddy..$75 each...This is like the last row...
I took my son to the AHL exbition...we sat very close to the action and the whole night cost me less than $50 with tickets, food, parking AND we got a puck.
If i take my son and we pay for Platinums, it will cost roughly $600 for the night....For that price I can take my family on a nice weekend getaway..

I think Ottawa is a pretty perfect compromise. It helps that I don't care about the team, so even if they're mediocre, whatever, but I get to see great hockey and basically have my pick of visiting teams for the season. Tickets are almost always available, yet they sell out a bunch of games still, and the prices, while not cheap, are not costing an arm and a leg. They aren't Tampa cheap or anything, but they aren't Toronto expensive.

I went to see a game in Tampa. I was so jealous of how easy it was to get tickets, see quality hockey.
Sorry Serge, but I hate that I gotta see the Leafs if I want to see an NHL game within an hours drive of my home.
At any given time, I could be convinced to see random NHL team A vs NHL team B, just for fun.
I somehow got myself on Atlanta's email list of supporters. I got one of those tickets for 4, dinner for 4, beer for 24, with bj's, combo offer for like $40 last year. And I thought...thats it, Im buying a plane ticket for an overnight trip to see Thrashers vs whoever. It occured to me that me and 3 friends would actually SAVE money by flying to Atlanta for this game, instead of driving to ACC.
I love that living here got me into hockey, but I hate that the NHL screws me by putting one franchise in my market, and then allows it to be run so shoddily in terms of customer service. I want to see the "NHL" product, not "MLSE"'s garbage.
I hope to drive to Buffalo this year, and still would like to make an Ottawa trip happen sometime this season.

BTW..You can go see tons of hockey within an hours drive..Oshawa has a very good facility, marlies, Brampton etc..Lots of good OHL and AHL hockey can be seen cheap.
I walked into the GM centre and watched the Generals practice from the stands. They let you just walk in.
BTW, if you want to really have fun and see 17 year old kids nervous:
Walk into the practice , grab a seat in the lower seats and take out a huge pad of paper and take notes. Its hilarious how nervous they get.

I tried the AHL thing. Got bored. My friend even got seasons tickets for seats right beside the Marlies bench, but still.....eh.
Juniors is ok, but nothing really close to me. Battalion prob closest, and thats still 30min away. Should have seen Battalion games last yr though, sick team.
Yeah, Im lazy/apathetic if it aint NHL though.
When I was in Tampa, I was at the game by myself. (was in Orlando on business, and a friend who was like president of the Blues got me a ticket, Bolts vs Caps)
So I was sitting beside these guys who started to ask me questions, and they said something like "wow, you know all the players/rules....how come???" and I just said I was a pro scout from the Flames, looking into a possible trade, to mess with them. By the end of the night, the whole row bought it! And this was like 2nd row from the ice, terrible seats for a scout!

This reminds me that the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL, in WV, ~1 hour from me) radio advertised a special last year for Fri or Sat night home games. Dinner for 2, 2 tickets to a game, and a night in a hotel for $99 total. I said all year that I wanted to do it, but never looked more into it. I need to check that out for this year. See what the "dinner" is and how quality the hotel is. There's a casino with a poker room in Wheeling as well.

I've got season tickets to the Caps but it's about a 2 hour drive so I'll likely only see a handful a year. Certainly the Pens @ Caps games will be included there. I'm also hoping to see at least a couple games @ PIT this season before the Igloo goes bye bye.
I've also got tickets to the each of the Pens CA road trip in the first week of Nov. @ LA on Nov. 3rd, @ Anaheim on Nov. 5th, and @ San Jose on Nov. 7th. I'll obviously take some pictures, hope for some good hockey, and to not die.

He skated through the whole team once and then floated the weakest wrist shot from just beyond the high slot right into the Penguin logo on Fleury's chest. That's about all that stood out.
Someone made a real dirty move off the skate late in the game and almost set up a goal, could have been him or Michalek, not sure.
Neil is just a dirtbag. He just attacked someone after the whistle with 2:19 left in a 4-1 game. Don't even remember who. He went to the box after dropping them with Kennedy (both got 4 mins for roughing), and then the refs told him to leave and go to the room and he took his sweet time yapping at the Pens bench, and just being a total douche in general.

Jason Spezza looked great tonight. His amazing ability to see the ice was on full display as he found teammates all over the rink. He very easily could have had four assist tonight. It is clear that some players on the roster, such as Jonathan Cheechoo and Milan Michalek are still getting used to the fact that Spezza will deliver the puck often and from everywhere. They each missed a couple of chances tonight that will be goals later in the season.
