Just saw the pilot for the spinoff and it looks quite promising. Very Seth MacFarlane feel but in a good way.
Lots of intro to new characters in the pilot but first big laugh for me was flashback after "That's less convincing than the time I had to use the bathroom at R Kelly's house."
Definitely like this more than American Dad already.

I dunno, American Dad is underrated.

just watched the pilot on hulu. seems like it's gonna be a tame version of family guy with the abstract/audacious plotlines and humor toned way way down (the opposite of american dad), almost to the point of being more like a run-of-the-mill predictable sitcom. not sure it's gonna hold my attention.

I didn't like American Dad for the first while but then it kind've grew on me. Still not on my MUST WATCH list though.
Be interesting to see how a white guy written black show does. Just strange how I went from Sunday morning cartoons to Sunday night cartoons.

I thought the American Dad last Sunday was one of the best ones. The war reenactment, and Barbara does Celine!

The pilot for this show really, really sucked. Discuss.

Agreed. I am enjoying it more with every episode though. This weeks bits with cleveland jr puns were amazing.

The opening theme is the only thing I find enjoyable about this show.

I think the pilot just had so much info to cram in, that they couldn't be too funny.
That being said, it's ok but not great so far. I like the Bear best of all.

AD is awesome!
Watched the pilot and thought The Cleveland Show felt like a less funny version of FG..

Cleveland Jr: Why is it so important for Roberta to be virgin Daddy?
Cleveland: Well thank you Cleveland Junior. If I told you that you could open up a new soda pop or drink one that had had seven penises in it. Which one would you prefer?
Cleveland Jr: I would probably go with the new soda pop because the other one might have blood in it

This line convinced me to at least watch the rest of the season.
I like American Dad, so I'm only hoping this show is almost as good. The first episode was one of the most painful 22 minutes of my life. I wanted to stab myself, but I knew there was no way McFarlane could make something that terrible.
Episodes have gotten progressively better, and I'm confident at least most will be decent. Like someone said above - they crammed so much in the first episode, there was no comedy.

After the 3rd episode, this is now the first show ever I have put on a season pass and then taken off. It just wasn't funny...
