Here is my team. Had almost no time to get any prerankings done or any scouting. Recently bought a house with the fiance and still don`t have my comp running but I like my team one the less. This year I took a bit more of a gamble with some guys who might be injury concerns but my strategy remained almost the same except for goaltending with no minimums. I do think I am better in goal this year though then last. I also think I am stronger on D. Offence will depend on whether or not some guys stay healthy.

4 Sidney Crosby, Pit - I thought he would be gone and my decision was going to be between Heatly for his goals or Datsuyk, Thorton and Getzlaf. Was an easy pick and hopefully with wingers like Guerin and Kunitz who hopefully hit 30+ goals he can put up a few more points this year.
33 Alexander Semin, Was - He is an injury concern but if he is healthy and on a line with Backstrom and Ovechkin most of the year he could hit 90+ points and should be good in most of our categories.
40 Pascal Leclaire, Ott - Goalies were going faster then I expected so I grabbed Leclaire here. He has looked good for Ottawa so far and I think they have lots to prove and he should put up solid numbers.
69 Martin Havlat, Min - Finally was healthy last year and put up good numbers often on the 3rd line. Should be 1st line in Minny and with Lemaire gone from there he could actually be at a point per game.
76 Paul Stastny, Col - Good player on a bad team. Has been almost a point per game player since he entered the league. Will probably hurt me in plus/minus but he will be the focal point of their offence.
105 David Krejci, Bos - Good breakout year last year and he might not be able to repeat but I think he should be good for 60ish points on a good Boston team as the teams 2nd line centre.
112 Milan Michalek, Ott - Will have a shot to play on the 1st line and with his speed and youth could see an increase in his point production with a larger role in Ottawa. Speeza will have something to prove which will help him and at worst he might get put on the 2nd line with guys like Fisher and Kovalev which isn't that bad either.
141 Lubomir Visnovsky, Edm - Had him last year and he was huge for me until he got hurt. Capable of getting 50 points and tons of PP points.
148 Mike Smith, TB - Seems to be healed from his concussion and its nice to get a starting goalie this late. I don't think he has much competition and could get a lot of starts on a Tamp Bay team that could be significantly better this year.
177 Kimmo Timonen, Phi - With Pronger in Philly it might give him more time and space to do his thing. Is getting up there in age but Philly can score so hopefully he can remain above 40 points.
184 Saku Koivu, Ana - I think this is a steal. Will have good chemistry with Seelane on the 2nd line and should also have another good scorer on the other wing whether it is Ryan or Lupul. Could hit 60+ points.
213 Joni Pitkanen*, Car - Was a beast for Carolina in the playoffs and I think most of the offence from their D will come from him. Would be nice if he can hit 40 points.
220 Braydon Coburn*, Phi - This was an autopick. Didn't realize I was up. Not terrible though. He is good for PIM's and hopefully he can bounce back offensively since he won't be a focal point with Pronger and Timonen in front of him. Good insurance if either player goes down especially with Timonen on my team.
249 Jonathan Cheechoo, Ott - He has something to prove and is good insurance if Michalek struggles as he could see time on the 1st line. Should also see PP time and even if he plays a lot on the 3rd line he has the potential to score and hit 60 points.
256 Vaclav Prospal, NYR - Probably will play mostly wing but should be on the 1st or 2nd line. Hoping he can play with Gaborik and Dubinsky a lot and put up slightly better numbers.
285 Mike Fisher, Ott - Bad year last year but has played well for Ottawa in the preseason. Was not my intention to take so many Sens but I think he should have better numbers by a lot with better depth around him.
292 Robert Nilsson, Edm - Hopefully he can also bounce back this year and have an increased role. Was almost at half a point a game so if he could hit 50 that would be nice.
321 Kyle Turris, Pho - Not a great 1st year but is young with lots of potential and Phoenix is weak down the middle. Hopefully his plus/minus isn't too bad and he can hit 40 points.
328 Adrian Aucoin, Pho - Not bad for my 5th defencemen. Getting older but still put up 34 points. I hope he can maintain those numbers.
357 Kris Russell, Cls - A good young defencemen on an ever improving Blue Jackets team. Would be nice if he can crack 30 points.
364 Dainius Zubrus, NJ - Put up 40 points last year in 82 games. New Jersey does have Lemaire behind the bench but with Gionta gone hopefully he can be relied upon to pick up a bit of the slack.
393 Mathieu Garon, Cls - I wanted Elliot as insurance for Leclaire but he was nabbed. Garon is competent and is backing up a young goalie who could struggle. I also doubt they want to overwork Mason.
400 Sergei Shirokov, Van - With Demitra out for now he will have a shot at the 2nd line. Reports say he has been looking very good so if he can see some decent time on the 2nd and 3rd lines this year then maybe I can 30 to 40 points out of him.
429 Gregory Campbell, Fla - This was an autopick. I had Afinegenov ahead of him who would have been nice as he could be a real sleeper this late but he was grabbed. Also had Bernier ahead of him since he has apparently lost 12 pounds and could be good on a 3rd line in Vancouver. Not sure if I will keep Campbell but we will see.
436 Peter Budaj, Col - Another autopick. Already dropped him. Don't need a backup on the worst team when I am fine in nets.
465 Kevin Regan, Bos - No idea who he is and have dropped him as well.

I missed out on some young players with potential since I went to bed early but there will be chances to grab guys who emerge out of training camps in favorable positions. I like my depth and was frustrated to see a few guys go when I had them on my radar. Was looking at Upshall late but he was grabbed. Was gonna grab Gaborik as my 2nd RW but he was also grabbed shortly before it was my turn. Still think I got a handful of guys at spots that don't do them justice.

Good luck this year guys. I will have to rely a bit more on luck as I won't have the time to sit on my computer every day analyzing teams and players and constantly grabbing guys who get called up from the minors, are coming back from injuries or being bumped up to the 1st or 2d line for a bit.

Very good looking team up front, but the goalie categories are going to be a problem for you, especially if/when Leclaire gets hurt.

My goalies are a gamble for sure but I was happy to get 2 starters. Realistically if I can win the saves category and one other category most weeks I should be fine. Shutouts will be a tie a lot of weeks so if I can average a 2-3-1 record in nets I am fine with that. Just need to tweak my bottom end forwards as training camp finishes.

I was able to survive last year with worse goaltending in Bryzgalov as my only real starter until I grabbed Elliot last year so I am not worried yet.

Oh right...didn't see Mike Smith sitting there, thought you only had Leclaire and Garon.

haha..this is awesome..I was so tilted that Budaj was picked up 2 picks before i was going to..I just picked him up..Now i have the starter and the back up of Carolina and Colorado..

should be a big orange or green circle after their name. There is a plus sign in the circle.

Thanks. I figured that was where it would have to be, but all I have in that column is the watch flag. I'll email ESPN as it's the same in both firefox and IE for me.

Apparently, i am not the only one who thinks espn suckssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Not to mention I got ill every time I heard the ESPN theme during the draft

Seriously, ESPN is everything that is wrong about sports. For them it is not about the game. It is about sensationalism, loud mouths shouting to each other about football 24 hours a day, hilites of ME athletes showing off, political correctness in programming that includes a lot of womans basketball, softball and soccer even though they get zero ratings but they won't show the NHL or much European futbol
serge
I agree with everyone here..However I think the final call is on the commish if 1st it CAN be done, 2nd if he wants to have it switched to Yahoo.

Its Adam's pool, he has done a great job in prepping and putting the time into it, so i will adhere to where, how, when we play.
MapleLeafs
Just wanted to say I emailed ESPN about my adding players problem, and their suggestion was to login with the username I created for the pool.

Thanks ESPN! Maybe I'll try that!.... tools

Turns out I just needed to update my Firefox to version 3. I had been holding off but w/e... it's done now.

I'm trying to get Yahoo set up, but I keep getting the same error that you can't have more than 25 players per team. I know this isn't the case because I'm in another custom league (that I'm not the commish of) which has 28 per team.

I'll email support and see what I can find out, do you guys hate Yahoo ESPN enough to drop the last three drafted spots from each team to Waivers if necessary?

FYP and yes
ajs510
Ok, I have no idea what I did but after a half hour of fucking around with the Yahoo settings (back and forth between importing our old league and the new one I'm in that has 28 spots) I finally, FINALLY got the league established on Yahoo.

It's set up for an offline draft, so I'm going to have to go in and add players manually to everyone's teams, but no matter, the league is now up on Yahoo where it belongs. smile.gif

Emails to GM's to follow, welcome home boys.

Here's the link - http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/204064

PM me for the password if you didn't get it via email.

One thing guys, it's 28 spots, not 29 like the ESPN League had.

One less Bench Spot, still 3 IR spots. I tried to add the bench spot through the Commish Tools and got the same error (25 max spots) I was getting before, so I'm not going to mess with it any further.

Each team in the ESPN league should currently have 26 players on it, so unfortunately we're each going to have to drop the player of your choice from your existing rosters. If you don't want to make the decision I'll drop a player at random from your bottom three selections in the draft (player out of a hat).

That's the sacrifice for getting Yahoo back, sorry.

Take out Kamel Kreps for me. How is this gonna work though? I already put 2 guys on IR and replaced them and made a number of changes.

So 28 total right? I dropped Helm and have 28. That is cool right. Your going off our current roster or draft? If it is draft, then I drop Moore. If it is roster I drop Helm.

I have the original draft results, I'm going to fill out the teams according to that and then we'll worry about changes. Any changes made in the ESPN league will be respected in the Yahoo league until we get everything straightened out.

For now, PLEASE stop making any changes to your rosters in the ESPN league, it will make the transition much easier.

See above, I'm going to fill rosters based on the draft and then we'll do changes from there. If you dropped Moore and added Helm, I'll just drop Moore and you'll be all set.

Gulp...I just looked at the transactions list...you guys have been busy.

i dropped Babchuk and added Petr Budaj..

Ok...new plan. I'm going to fill rosters according to who you HAVE right now, it's going to be way too confusing to try and do it the other way.

I'll need every GM in the league to post or PM me a player from your existing roster that you want to drop, unless you currently have an empty roster spot for whatever reason.

Ack. just say this now... added Paille, but you can keep him off if you haven't already done it. I moved Talbot to the IR so that puts me at 28 players.

Still need Dale, Ollie, Scott D and Stephane to register on Yahoo, then I can finish filling up your teams. I have the 14 teams already on there done, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at all.

Just a note, there are some players in ESPN's list that aren't on Yahoo (notably Robert Lang, there are a few others), so some of you may end up with open roster spots when everything opens up.

The current Waiver order from ESPN will be carried over to Yahoo, I'll import that as soon as the teams get filled up.

It would probably be in your best interests to cancel them both if possible, I'm considering the ESPN rosters locked and set as of yesterday. Your team on Yahoo has been filled in based on the players that you have on ESPN right now, minus Anton Babchuk per your request.
