Our Farm has some players who also might help us defend out title and we own 4 picks in the draft at number 10,40,60 and 80. I think we'll get something pretty good with the 10th pick and then hope to get lucky with our later ones.

I see a weaker goaltending crew this season than in past year's. Expect Minny to allow more goals, and Ottawa is on the lower end now.

We'll see in a few years how our draft turned out.

If Gilroy is productive like I hope then I'll be happy and I think a couple of my other d-men have decent upsides. Rodin will be a boom or bust player and I took a flyer on Bertilsson with the last pick in the draft.

Love to compare AHL drafts to FCHL. Some similarities to ours. Same players went Wiercioch, Rodin, Gaunce then Gilroy in ours. Gaunce seems a little late in this draft...but then again I'm the one who picked him!

Gilroy really seemed to 'sleep' in our draft. I think everyone was planning to take him with the next pick for a couple rounds. Surprised to see Palmieri that early, since he was completely passed over in the FCHL, but I'm sure Anaheim knows more than most of us.

The Big M's have decided that Jonathan Toews is finally ready for the active roster and have called him up from the farm along with d-man Carlo Coliacovo. We just hope Coliacovo doesn't trip over Marian Gaborik in the dressing room and put them both on IR for 6 months.

Claude Giroux will most likely get more seasoning before being called up.

Toews is a cancer in the dressing room. Obviously he hasn't been called up for that reason. The downfall of the Big M's begins now!

Matt Gilroy has all but locked up a roster spot with the Rangers.

The Rangers sent youngster Bobby Sanguinetti to the minors on Thursday eliminating one of his main competitors from the competition. Gilroy has looked outstanding thus far and seems to have earned the trust of coach John Tortorella, which is no easy task for anyone. He is primed for a great rookie season.

Serge and I have a bet on Saturday's game where all 30 teams are playing. His best lineup against a lineup of players who I'm not using tonight. The bet is just a small $10 one for some fun.

Visnovsky is a locker room neighbor of Ladislav Smid who was diagnosed with the virus on Tuesday. Now that Visnovsky is feeling ill the Oilers are concerned that he has the swine flu as well. The Oilers are assuming he does and are treating him as such. No word yet on whether or not Visnovsky will miss any time, though he did leave Tuesday's game in the third period.

His team saw my lineup and got scared. No one came to play last night against the Ingmen.
