Comes out September 25th. It's loosely based on the Austin Road Trip story from his (Tucker Max) blog which is a hilarious read. Hopefully this will end up being just as funny.

I saw a clip, it looked painfully unfunny. Too bad because I used to love his site.

That sucks, the small budget and a C-list cast makes me wonder how good it could be, but I'll gamble on it just because I got so much enjoyment out of his site it's worth the price of a movie ticket.

speedz99
That looks like one of the worst movies of all time.
king_tanner
I highly recommend the book.
Mercury69
I'll stick with the blog, thanks...

Hey, it has that dude from Hackers in it.

I've been waiting for this one for awhile as the book is one of my favorite books I own.

Sadly, I have my doubts about the movie. Definitely going to see it, but I feel it's going to be a lot like "21". Good enough, funny, but a slight disappointment for those who have read the book.

Oh well, as long as it provides some laughs. I'm easily amused.

No, dude, come on. It's very, very, very loosely based on just one story from the book. The actors are HORRIBLE. They couldn't even find one funny or interesting moment to put in a two minute preview. It's going to be frightfully bad.

I can't believe that anyone would watch that preview and still go to see the movie. I'm also kind of shocked that Max hasn't disappeared yet.

I agree this is a disappointment, but what can they do? The book is a random collection of stories that take place over several years' time. They'd have to make the movie a whole sequence of flashbacks - "Do you remember the time we....".

The cast is horrible. Maybe they should have let Tucker play himself. The only 2 I recognized were the guy who plays Tucker and the blonde chick who plays the one guy's fiance. They were both in that awful remake of Cruel Intentions. And someone told me Tracy Lords is in it (stripper maybe?). Blah.

Still, Austin Road Trip is my fav story from the book. I want to see if funny in writing translates to funny on screen or stupid on screen. I will have a hard time not laughing at Tucker shitting himself while running across the hotel lobby.

I just brought up 21 as a comparison because it was a book I enjoyed a lot and while the movie was not bad, it did not mirror the book or even the true story at some points. It was a Hollywoodarized version of the truth, they just changed too many things for me to really enjoy it.

I thought it was amusing that his porn name was Scott Peterson. I think that name could get a lot more play in random jokes and still be funny every time.

I saw a clip where they are talking about fucking midgets, which isn't part of the Austin road trip story.
Mercury69
lol...TuckerMax.comis DENIED by my firewall at work. Probably because of the fat chick pictures.

Also, on More To Love, the pre-show disclaimer say there may be content that offends the viewers. Yeah...like FAT CHICKS!

Harpooning whales ftw...

You're right, it's not. They probably have sprinkled in bits from other stories. That's actually from "The Midget Story", which isn't even in the book. I think it happened after the book came out.

I'd like to see them incorporate parts from "The Night We Almost Died" in there.
bleacherbum3
Then I saw her: My MidgetPrincess. Her blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes made me think of Gwyneth Paltrow. Her missing neck and bowlegs gave me an idea what Gwyneth would look like if placed in a vise and squished to one-quarter size. As her pigeon-toed feet carried her past my table, I slid down in my chair, hoping to catch her eye. She looked at me and smiled, her mashed-up teeth sparkling in the oily light of the popcorn machine. I gave her an unmistakable "I want to fuck you" look, she shot me back a quick "My spine hurts" face, and I was smitten.
king_tanner
Maybe it would be a better 30 min HBO TV show instead of a movie.

Things I hate, but are really popular: Tucker Max
Shark527
I finally saw the movie and it was funny, but compared to the book, an overall let down.

They took probably 5 different stories and rolled them into one storyline. Some stories I didn't recognize until I looked up his site again. Tucker posted 40 something new stories on there from last time I checked, which as been forever.

His two friends in the movie are Slingblade and Goldenboy, or ElBingeroso?
timwakefield
So I worked at a bookstore a few years ago and ended up reading his book across about a week of breaks. It was like a car crash that I couldn't look away from. It was also one of the most embarrassing, awful, morally corrupt things I've ever read. He's a horrible, horrible person and I'm not really sure what the attraction is, but apparently it's there because most of you guys seem to love him.

antistuff
i felt like a jackass after i bought a copy of this knowing that some of the money i just spent will go to the guy who wrote it. hes a boring person, a bad writer, has no self esteem, and is a pussy (the story about the rednecks with the guns, common, if you're going to conduct yourself in the way he describes then don't be a bitch when somebody stands up to you).

them making this into a movie makes me sad. like the same kind of sad that reality shows make me.

I think the anticipation of seeing the movie hyped up the immediate enjoyment of it.

I"ve always wondered how many times Tucker has ever been punched out in a bar or generally had his ass kicked. Something I'm sure he probably would'nt write about in detail.

Seeing this movie and buying the book are equivalent to breaking your neck while trying to suck your own dick.

Pretty much...Does your posting in this thread mean you like the Tucker Max thing or did you just pop in to be your usual post-modern snarky self, an art form that lost it's charm decades ago.

Mixed messages appear to be your forte. You keen sense of editorializing is wasted here. Off the cuff remarks don't deserve your gracious attention.
