True..There is a couple of guys there that have been out of hockey for a while. No real need to cut them unless I have picks that puts me at the limit.

Simmonds has zero shot of getting on either of the top two lines, so more than 10 goals and more than 30 points will be a big reach for him. I would project him for the 4th line, personally, but he's a good player to be sure. Needs a trade to reach full potential, he just has too many young guys in his way to get the big minutes on LA...ever.

It is too much but there are no other options really. The money is there to spend and it can't be carried over into the next season. Plus there will be no better players to be had for $8 at the free agent draft.

Good news out of Mustangs camp is that recently re acquired Maxim Afinogenov is with Atlanta looking for a contract.

Its not the ideal location as I have Antropov, however its better than Russia.

Sign him.

More good news for the Mustangs. With Kessel officially out of Boston, Kobasew moves up the depth chart and should get top 6 forward minutes.
serge
Mustangs Nation, we have lots of surprises for you this year..

We will entertain you and most importantly win a lot of games.

We have a party October 2, for all season ticket holders. Location will be emailed to all of you..

There will lots of food, booze and celebritites.

The Mustangs have announce that Zach Bogosian will be the their captain. He was the interim captain after the veterans went down, and now the future and leader of the franchise will wear the captaincy for many years to come.

"Shad uragh em, yev goozem usel vor inch bedk illa bidi inem, ays mustang neroon hamar" said Bogosian from Atlanta.

So I'm watching the 'Leafs/caps game tonight. Drawn in, as the casual fan that I am, by Ovetchkin, and he delivered in like a minute. And in the moments before the score, the announcers were talking about the Capital's coach, and how he coached in the AHL, and how he's "Earned the respect" of his team. Now, I am one who is a firm believer that coaching matters little.. that if you have great players, great talent, you're going to win, and rarely is a team where coaching makes a difference at all. So I was curious what you thought the importance of the hockey coach is serge, how much of a difference do you think they make? As a casual observer, I'd rank the sports, in order of coaching importance as 1) Football 2) Basketball 3) Hockey 4) Soccer 5) Baseball.
Zach6668
I'd probably rank hockey ahead of basketball, but really don't know anything about basketball.
Ottawa_Biatch
I can't say anything about soccer because I don't know the sport. But if I had to rank them.

1) Football
2) Baseball
3) Basketball
4) Hockey

I ranked baseball ahead of the other two, because there's so many things the coach can control, such as which pitchers to use, which batters, when to intentional walk, when to steal a base, hit and run, putting the shift on. So many things.

I find basketball and hockey are more spur of the moment sports. Coaching is still a big part, but no where near as much as football and baseball. I rank basketball ahead of hockey, just because when coaches design plays for the end of the game, coaching in basketball is a lot more controlled in terms of the play.

I guess what I meant was VORC. ( Value over league average replacement coach). It seems to me the situations that you hit and run, intentionally walk, steal, shift are extremely basic and that few coaches would have advantages over any other coach. Hell, with the advancement of statistical analysis in the game, even when to pull a pitcher and what pitcher to replace him with could almost be automated.

It seems to me that coaches in basketball and hockey are constantly having to make replacements, judging who should or shouldn't be on the ice/floor, who should or shouldn't play with each other, for a night and for a season. And in basketball they have to design plays, and offensive/defensive philosophies, so you can actually see a big difference in the play between a team like D'antoni's Knicks, and Mike Brown's Cavs.
