Game 1: Saturday, October 3rdResult: 3.5 - 3 loss to Puck Warfare
The Good: My forwards managed to put up 5.5 points and I got a goal from Matt Hunwick who I think will just get better and better as he's given more opportunities. I'm in first place in the division as every team in my division lost but I put up the most points.
The Bad: I was so close to pulling out the win as I only finished half a point back and my OT player (Stastny) got a goal and an assist. The Hamrlik assist on the Travis Moen goal in the Montreal/Buffalo game was the deciding factor.
The Ugly: I submitted my lineup early as things are busy right now and I didn't want to forget. Since submitting my lineup I had added Philadelphia Goalies in a trade. I had intended to remove Carolina Goalies from my lineup and insert the Philly Goalies. In fact, I had made the change on my tracker but failed to do so in the AHL forum. As it turns out Carolina gave up 7 goals and killed my chances of winning. F U Hurricanes!

Game 2: Tuesday, October 6thResult: 4 - 2 loss to Steelheads
The Good: My team is scoring goals and giving me a chance. Goals from James Neal, Guillaume Latendresse and Jussi Jokinen are very nice. Stamkos gave me an assist for the second consecutive game.
The Bad: My Anahein goalies had Minnesota in check but then blew a 3-0 lead and ended up giving up 4 goals. Had I gone with Carolina again (I guess I was a little gunshy) I would have only allowed 1 goal against.
The Ugly: Three goals against from Mike Richards is a killer. Joe Thornton added 3 assists. It's hard to win when your opponent has two players get 3-point nights.

That's a really really good spot for him to end up. He has so much talent, but Edmonton is pretty deep on young skilled forwards, so it was tough for him to crack the lineup there.

I've probably watched 40-50 games of Schremp in the AHL. Most fans of Springfield would agree, the team is much better when he isn't in the lineup.
His 'skillset' is highly overrated. He is super slow, doesn't go into danger areas at all, and overplays the puck a lot. His game is 100% perimeter. he is a decent powerplay guy, but I'd still want guys who can retrieve the puck on my powerplay over perimeter floaters. Honestly, I'll be surprised if he ever becomes a regular NHLer.

Ruslan Fedotenko - PIT
Jussi Jokinen - CAR

What's wrong with putting in players who don't play? I mean...they won't score any points. Maybe Fedotenko and Jokinen are trying to root on their buddies? Maybe he put Carolina in to psyche you into changing your lineup?

We are still waiting for a response from Dale McSudbury, before notifying the commissioner.

The Gothic are currently sitting in third behind the Steelheads and the Cheap Thieves. I am within striking distance of the Steelheads and this is exactly where I had thought I would be. I don't expect to challenge the Cheap Thieves this year but the Steelheads are a definite possibility especially if my Carolina Hurricanes goalies can get back to last years form. They have been brutal this season so far.
Gothic MVP so far this season = James Neal and Steven Stamkos
Calling out Bryan Little, Patrik Berglund and Guillaume Latendresse.

Two Gothic players are on the Team Canada Watch List.
Q: The most fascinating part of your choices is the Watch List - the guys you think are being watched very carefully right now. One of the names on that list is James Neal.
"When you talk to people around the league, he's become one of the more dominant power forwards. He's already got eight goals playing for the Dallas Stars, he's their leading goal scorer. But the biggest thing about James Neal in talking to Marty Turco and Alex Auld - the two Dallas goalies who have to face him in practice every day - his shot coming down the wing just eats them up. It's a (Mark) Messier-type release, Mark Recchi-in-his-prime-type release. A left hand shot coming down the right side and his shot is overpowering goaltenders. He's got very good foot speed and he makes things happen off the forecheck. One of the big things coming out of 2006 (Olympics) - not enough youthful enthusiasm, not enough speed and not enough guys that can bring new "jam" to the room. James Neal and Steven Stamkos and Drew Doughty can all do that."
