I'm new to the table so no read on preflop villains, but important villain hasn't gotten out of line and I don't recall him getting involved in any hands like this previously.

I know it's a 4.40 (we don't fold good hands) but I feel like I'm only slightly ahead of even the goofy part of his range here. Thoughts?

I think I still call this. The overbet shove smells like a draw, most likely clubs. Only a few club draws have you really in trouble, but the thing is is you have a blocker to most of them because you hold the qc.gif. Therefore villain cannot hold KQcc or Q9cc. That leaves only 98cc as a draw that really has you in hot water. I don't think this is a non-club KQ or a set because most villains don't limp the button with a hand that strong. It could be like JT with no club I guess, but even there you're not in terrible shape.

i go broke here: even if he has a st8 we have outs to split and that is worst case scenario. A set we have 4 outs. This is probably a massive overplay by a newbie with a draw i agree

I go broke here and I'm one of the tighter nits in this forum.
EDIT: oh I was quoting swoly for a +1 that I forgot to include.

You're way ahead of about any Ace he has, any straight draw or flush draw, and PP's. He would have to have a weird combo to have a straight+flush draw since the QcJcTc are all accounted for, and thats the only type of hand that you're "slightly" ahead of. If he out-flopped you then you are going broke here and that is just fine. Don't be results-oriented because whatever he had he played it badly and you should usually be happy to get you're money in here in a $4.40.

I can assure you sir that I do not post hands because I'm feeling sorry for myself.

I don't see any chance he has a better hand than you. He probably tried to push you off with a flush/straight draw, and you still have outs to split or win. There's no way he has AA/KK/AK, or he woulda/shoulda re-raised. So I'm calling this.
