I was really in to my girl Natalie until she went all Goddy on us last night. I mean come on, save it for the Wsop FT or something. I'm sure she'll make top 3 if she stays tight with Russel and Brett. Not sure if I can see a scenario where she wins though.
brvheart
I'll tell you guys one thing... I'm an absolute LOCK to finish 2nd place, as I predicted at the beginning of the season, with my horse Jaison. That dude is definitely finishing 2nd. He can't possibly win, even if it was just a final 2 and it was him and Natalie he would still lose. He can't win 1 vs. 1 in any remaining scenario, let alone 1 vs 1 vs 1.

It took me quite a while to decide to put Jaison in front of him... and I did it because I figured that he would at least get 3rd... and Erik might be too good and kicked out earlier. But I definitely think that Erik has at least a 50% better chance of winning the whole thing than Jaison since: he's not black.

I agree that [Russell H] has been as effective at manipulating his tribe as he thought he could be.

Where has that gottten him?

A tribe that is completely a mess and no real alliance that will mean anything long term. The goal isn't to destroy your tribe so you are the last man standing from it. Sure, Johnny Fairplay showed that the Villain can make it as far as Third Place, get a little infamy, and first out on the eventual Survivor All Star Season. But ultimately known best for being a prick and getting his teeth knocked out by Danny Bonaduce

I do think he may be one of the rare cases where he plays his immunity idol instead of going home with it in his backpack.

I still think he's a prick and doubt that he's an "Oil Company Millionaire"

I'm going to do a mid-season re-ranking of the people, just for fun.

Here's what I had before I knew anything about anyone:

My new ranking list...

1 Russell Hantz 36 I can't believe how amazing he is. Probably top 3 ever. I'm glad we'll get to see him next season on All-Stars.
2 Jaison Robinson 28 He's a pussy, but he's well liked and he's friends with Russell, which is the only reason he's not 5 or lower here.
3 Dave Ball 38 I can't believe I'm putting Dave this high. He's really been much much better that I would have ever guessed. (I still think he has no shot at winning.)
4 Brett Clouser 23 He's insignificant, which means he has a shot at winning.
5 Mick Trimming 33 I probably like him the best of all the remaining players. (But he won't win.)
6 Erik Cardona 28 His blow-up at tribal tonight will cost him the game. You simply can't make Russell hate you.
7 Kelly Sharbaugh 25 worthless.
8 Laura Morett 39 worthless. Although, due to Russell talking with her next week, she has a shot at going far.
9 John Fincher 25 worthless.
10 Elizabeth Kim 33 Stupid, but hard working. Russell doesn't like her, so she's gone soon.
11 Natalie White 26 worthless.
12 Monica Padilla 25 worthless.
13 Shannon Waters 45 worthless. Will end up finishing like 3rd or 4th though, because like the guys on her tribe said. “She's really dumb, so let's keep her around.”
14 Russell Swan 42 Weird old black dude
15 Ashley Trainer 22 The blond that has gut. Jeff says he wouldn't be surprised if she goes far.
16 Yasmin Giles 33 Jeff wouldn't be surprised if she was 1st out.
17 Ben Browning 28 Has an anger problem.
18 Betsy Bolan 48 Cop
19 Mike Borassi 62 Chef
20 Marisa Calihan 26 Thinks she'll get eaten by her tribe.

I didn't rank the people that are already out. I just put them in the order they left. I think Marisa was really really good. It's a shame she left so early. Everyone else that has been kicked out has been stupid or worthless... including Russell.

GG Mike, sorry your horse had to go out that way.

I do like my guy Erik, I'm happy that he stood up to Russell last night and I think his tribe is behind up all the way. I have a feeling he might become the new tribe leader if not Dave.

brvheart - Russell might be very entertaining and the only real good personality on the yellow tribe. He's fun to watch not to mention his rants are great but I certainly wouldn't rank Russell H and Jaison as the top 2 players in the game to win
(Maybe the most likeable).

Their tribe has 5 ppl left compared to 8. If a merge happens in the next 2 weeks they don't have the numbers right now to push the game. Judging by the previews Russell deserves credit for trying to make friends with the other tribe next week but to guarantee Laura final 2.... She'd have to be stupid to believe it LOL.

Whenever there is a merge the strongest players from the smaller alliance are the targets, I think Russell is going to have to know when to use his idol in order to go deep and to be honest I hope he does.

o rly?

QUOTE (brvheart @ Friday, October 23rd, 2009, 10:53 AM) *
Obviously Russell and Jaison will have targets... but the merge isn't happening for 2 or 3 more weeks, probably... and who knows what the make-up of the teams will be by then. Whenever one team dominates, the smaller team always ends up doing very well at the new tribe, because no one's worried about them. Look at JT and Steven! They had lost 5 people and the other tribe only 2, and they both ended up 1st and 2nd. The same scenario could easily play out here.

QUOTE (brvheart @ Friday, October 30th, 2009, 9:47 PM) *
As soon as Jaison quit pushing the boat... I was like, "Oh crap... I'm out". But on the way to tribal, they had Russell basically talk out why he would be stupid to cut him and then I was relieved. I was even more relieved after viewing the clips from next week. No way Jaison is out before top 5 now... and I like his chances on individual immunities. I don't think he's a team player at all, but should do ok on his own. I just hope he doesn't win a couple in a row or Russell will boot him early.

Russell really is just fun to watch. He is easily the best survivor since Boston Rob, and if it weren't for the fact that Boston Rob was manipulating the votes ON THE OTHER TRIBE WHEN HE WASN'T EVEN THERE... then I might even put Russell ahead of him. A couple more awesome episodes and the unthinkable might happen. Boston Rob dethroned.

Wow... one of the best episodes of all time. I was actually fist pumping tiger woods style when they were writing down russell's name.

What a game shifter, Russell just jumped up a few notches on the respectability level. Seeing Dave's reaction was hilarious, "wooow".

I'm kind of torn, never thought I'd cheer for shambo but she has to make the full switch to keep russell & his crew in the game. However, if she goes next week I win my bet although that seems to be very unlikely unless her old alliance feels betrayed.

Very possible.
bleacherbum3
Not taking into consideration immunity, I think the pecking order is pretty straightforward. Brett goes next, then Jaison, Russ, and Nat turn on Mick in the final 4. He's a little too likable.

Assuming Brett's gone, their strategies seem easy:

Russell just needs to get to final 3 and he wins.

Jaison maybe thinks he can convince the jury at the end that he called all the shots as much as Russell but stayed in the background and less vocal. (Not many will buy this)

Mick needs to convince Nat and Jaison in the final 4 to turn on Russell because they can't beat him. (which they can't, but Nat and Jaison probably can't beat Mick either)

Natalie has almost zero chance to win, but has a great chance to coast into 2nd place money.

Why would anyone get rid of Jaison? It makes no sense. He will not win. If he even tries to take any of the credit, it will just make him look worse. He would be much better off just saying he's a poor college kid and Russ is a rich a-hole.

The winner will be either Russell, Brett, or Mick. They can't get rid of them all. They HAVE to get rid of Russell and Brett to even make it interesting. They (Jaison, Mick and Nat) must realize that they can not win in any scenario over Brett or Russell, and if they all DO somehow get smart and make the final 3, then Mick will end up winning. (although I think the vote will be widely split)
Canuckickstan
I don't get why everyone is so on the Mick train, he hasn't done much more than Natalie imo. If they were able to get rid of Russel and Brett, my girl may have a hope. She was involved in many of the decisions that were made but she didn't piss a lot of people off.

I haven't read anyone's responses to the finale yet... but here are my thought's.

**** YOU BRETT!! If Brett hadn't won that last immunity then Jaison was definitely going with Russell to the finale (he even said exactly what I had posted a few days ago) and I would have won my $75. I hate Brett.

If Jaison wasn't such a little girl then Russell could have taken him instead of Mick, but he simply didn't trust Jaison to beat Brett even over NATALIE. You know that you are not a man when someone chooses an 95lb woman over you for a challenge.

Has anyone on earth ever been born with the intelligence and body/strength of Jaison and been a bigger, dumber idiot/wimp?

HOW THE HOLY HELL DOES AN IVY LEAGUE LAW STUDENT AND A DOCTOR NOT FIGURE OUT THAT THEY HAVE TO GET RID OF RUSSELL AS SOON AS BRETT WINS IMMUNITY!?!?!?!?!?

Russell lost because of his cockiness AFTER winning the final immunity all the way through to the finale. It's amazing that he couldn't figure that out. Natalie was FINE with getting 2nd, but Russell personally got her riled up and thinking. Russell's ego is something to behold.

I loved Erik's speech. He probably swung at least 2 votes, maybe more, for Natalie.

:EYEROLL:

THAT IS PART OF THE GAME! Russell can't expect it to just get handed to him. He screwed himself. Everyone knows he played the best during the season, but the finale is included in the season, and he screwed the pooch by pissing off Natalie at camp and letting his ego run wild.

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE EVEN KNOWN THAT HE WAS RICH!!! It was his EGO that cost him the season. If he didn't tell Mick that he made 1.7m last year, then Mick wouldn't tell Jaison and Jaison wouldn't tell everyone else. If he was just a poor small business owner from Louisiana, then he wins. But he has absolutely no self-control over praising himself.

Exactly.

Everyone saying that "Russell won" in their minds is ignoring the same thing that Russell ignored - there are multiple facets to this game and you can "win" all but one of them and still lose the stinking game. He completely ignored how his ego was affecting his standing with the Jury - he just didn't seem to care that he had to win the Jury. You could see his ego lose him votes in the episode where he wore his immunity idol and declined to play it - arrogantly stating that he'd rather keep it as a souvenir. Maybe he can pawn it for a million dollars (or $900k) since that is what it cost him.

People will talk about past seasons where the Jury respected the dominating play and strategy of someone who beat them. But if you act like a prick and don't show people respect, then they won't respect you. How many times have we heard Jeff say: "Now the power shifts to the Jury" Russell thought he didn't need the Jury. He was wrong. He stated a million times that he was controlling people during the game, but forgot he couldn't control them when they were on the Jury. He underestimated the Social impact of disrespecting his opponents. That ultimately cost him the game he'd dominated for so long. GG Russell.

Congrats to the winners! Wow... crazy finish. I was on edge during that carnaval challenge holding up the sticks. That was intense.

Russell didn't need another jury to win the game, he needed a better attitude after making the finals.

I don't think there has ever been someone in the finals with that big of an ego. It simply cost him the game. I never heard Russell say once "I'm sorry" to anyone on the jury. Not that he has to be apologetic but just a simple bit of sympathy could've won him the game.

Instead, he felt like superman. He thought he was unbeatable and no one deserved to be there next to him. He embarrassed himself being so cocky to Natalie, to warm up for the questions at camp. It backfired and he got what he deserved.

With that said, he's still one of the best players to have ever played the game. It was a different take on getting to the end that we really haven't seen before and that's what made him so exciting to watch.

We've seen this type of finish before where the best player can't finish. Amanda from China & Micronesia made the finals back to back seasons and failed to win as well.

GG Everyone! It's been an awesome season, can't wait to do it all again in February for Heroes vs Villains.

I do think Russell should have been more humble and accountable at the final tribal, but it's like getting your AA cracked and then slowrolled the way those fcktards voted. Bunch of whiny bitches.

Am I the only one that felt like Russell already knew the outcome before the results were read? He looked pissed and upset the entire time, including before the votes were already read and it seems he had this 'offer for the title' thing already worked up in his head.

Interesting turn of events with the impromptu jury vote if he had brought Shambo instead of Natalie.

No doubt Erik's speech turned some votes and he made some very very valid points and a great argument. You have to play the game the way that best suits your strengths and I think Natalie did that.

I was a bit disappointed Russell didn't win as I think he played one of the most amazing games ever and deserved it, but I can see how and why jury voted the way they did.

Does everyone still believe that Russell is an oil business owner and made 1.7 million last year? I mean there is nothing positive that could come out of him lying about that and was probably one of the factors that ended up leading to the jury voting the way they did. I just have trouble believing anything that the man says.

Jaison is a punk ass whiny bitch imo.

I haven't watched any of the Ponderosa eps yet so still have that to look forward to.

DEFINITELY CAN'T WAIT FOR HEROES VS VILLAINS! Just 52 days away. I'm assuming this hasn't been filmed yet and they will have to start filming immediately if it is going to be a standard 39 day season? Doesn't leave a whole lot of time for post production.

Oh man, the thought of Coach the Dragon Slayer and Russell on the same team makes me tingle with excitement and anticipation.

One last afterthought ... I realize they go through a pretty intensive screening and health checkup process before allowing players to play this game, but I believe it is a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt or dies in one of these seasons. Listening to black Russell talk about his near death heavenly experience gave me chills

Nice backstage recap at EOnline. The last part makes it sound like they haven't shot Heroes vs Villains yet.

Survivor Shocker

Both Mick Trimming and Jaison Robinson told us they first learned the true extent of their tribemate's deviousness by watching the show on TV. "Honestly, I had nothing against Russell, I wasn't mad at him until I saw the episodes where he was sabotaging us," Jaison revealed before complaining: "I think it's one thing to be in control of this game and form alliances, but it's another thing to pour out water and do the things he did. People were passing out all over the place—you didn't see it, but people were unconscious because they weren't getting enough hydration." Mick expressed a slightly different viewpoint about Russell's secret canteen emptying: "Sad thing is, it didn't shock me at all. I was just waiting for him to pee in it next: OK, he poured it out, what's he going to fill it up with?"

The new season of Survivor, pitting former deceitful Castaways against those who most prized integrity, premieres Feb. 11. Will Russell be part of Heroes vs. Villains? "I don't even know if I want to play the game again," he told us morosely—before this parting shot: "RussellGotScrewed.com!"

Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains will be the upcoming twentieth season of the American TV series Survivor. Unlike previous seasons where a break in production occurred between seasons, the twentieth season was shot shortly after Survivor: Samoa was completed.[2] Casting for Heroes vs. Villains was done simultaneously with Survivor: Samoa.[3] It will feature ten members known for their integrity, the Heroes, and ten former Survivors known for their deception, the Villains.[4] Rather than the usual "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast", the logo for this season features the phrase "Return, Revenge, Redemption".

Richard Hatch, the winner of the original Survivor, was asked to return for this season, leading to speculation that it would be another All-Stars season. However, he had to apply to leave the country since he is under house arrest. His request was denied by a federal judge in Rhode Island.[1]
