All I know is I'm liking this season more every week and infact I really hope it does become a 6 vs 6 setup down the road. It would definitely make for good TV.

Also is it just me or do the girls just suck this season?

Yep. Attractive but absolutely useless.

Having to be wet and cold for 5 days plays to the namesake of the show. You should have to have some skills to SURVIVE. If you can't build a proper shelter for the elements you may be facing, you're going to suffer. I love this.

Sitting in the rain for that many days and nights would be brutal.

I wondered about this, too. If I was there, I'd spend my time making a waterproof shelter. Especially once it starts raining. You're going to be wet anyway, you might as well be doing something useful about it.

Crazy Russell is definitely one of the best players ever. He's probably too good to win.... someone will realize how much of a threat he is and pick him off. Of course, I thought the same thing last season.....

My bet with Gov is looking like a possible win. Not the way I expected, though...lol.

The only reason will be that Monica has been so weak. I hope Shambo does something stupid or my gal will continue to be on the bubble if Galu goes to tribal.

been avoiding this thread til i finally got to watch this episode last night. wow that was awesome anxiety the producers built in to Russell's face/eyes when he passed out with the cut to Jeff looking extremely nervous.

Seriously Dave is going far, he has no target on him and he's been of no threat what so ever. Other people are running their mouths and he's letting them bury their own graves. I hope he final tables this and then says "PEACE" at the end of his jury speech like he did after winning chicken in his interview.

He kind of came off as a dick in that whole fire thing with Russel.

I also see him going far though, but I don't see him going to the end with the alliance he is in. He is going to have to betray that group at some point to make it to the final 2 or 3 and have a chance of winning. As for now he is doing ok with laying low.

Seriously the first two things you need in a long term survival situation is water and shelter. The fact that neither tribe has any real shelter is amazing to me.

Russel taking the pillows and blankets instead of that nice big tarp may have been one of the worst decisions in Survivor history. Then standing out in the rain that whole time, he deserved what he got.

I don't think he means the fainting/nearly dying stuff. Rather, it's the relatively early exit. Russell might have been leader in name, but most (if not all) of his "decisionating" pissed off members of his tribe. I mean, the pillow and blankie thing was just plain stupid and, if I was a woman, I would have been somewhat insulted at his "we need to keep our women happy" line he used to justify his bad decision.
king_tanner
Episode tonight sucked, all that interested me was the previews for next week. I really hate how Shambo thinks she is running things. Imagine dealing with her in real life.

Go Russel!!!!

Each week I want to F Natalie more and more. She needs to let her hair down though, it looks freaking weird all on the top of her head
hblask
Not much in this episode, except more proof that Russel is 10 steps ahead of everyone else. If he makes the final three, it will be the greatest achievement on Survivor. The deck has been stacked against him from the start, and he makes every move just right. I don't think I'd want to be his friend in real life, but wow, what a player.

So it's merge next week at 12.... can Shanbo keep her head low? (A: Of course not, she's too stupid, but that may save her for a few more weeks). Will Russel be a power player? Next week should be a good one.
brvheart
As soon as Jaison quit pushing the boat... I was like, "Oh crap... I'm out". But on the way to tribal, they had Russell basically talk out why he would be stupid to cut him and then I was relieved. I was even more relieved after viewing the clips from next week. No way Jaison is out before top 5 now... and I like his chances on individual immunities. I don't think he's a team player at all, but should do ok on his own. I just hope he doesn't win a couple in a row or Russell will boot him early.

Russell really is just fun to watch. He is easily the best survivor since Boston Rob, and if it weren't for the fact that Boston Rob was manipulating the votes ON THE OTHER TRIBE WHEN HE WASN'T EVEN THERE... then I might even put Russell ahead of him. A couple more awesome episodes and the unthinkable might happen. Boston Rob dethroned.

Jaison is no higher than 8th in my ranking list now.

LOL you reallly love Boston Rob. I think there have been players just as good as Rob since All-Stars. Fireman Tom and Yul were just as dominating. Remember Rob didn't even win. Yeah a win for Amber was pretty much a win for him since they were in a relationship, but playing the way he did made it impossible for him to win. Also, I don't even think Rob made it to the jury in his original season.

At this point Russell is playing better than Rob because Russell is manipulating everyone, but nobody knows it. Everyone knew Rob was running things, but they couldn't get him off although they wouldn't give him votes at the end. There is a lot of show left, so we can't say that Russell is one of the best players ever yet.

Also, from what he has shown I do not think Jaison will do well in any immunity challenges unless it is a straight up swimming race. I think every single guy left will do a better job than him.

Which means that Russell will keep him around... so that's good.

Also, you're mis-reading Rob. He was very good his first season, but got screwed. EVERYONE in all-stars knew what he was like and he still made it to the end with his girlfriend as 1-2. He's also probably the best single person to ever run on Amazing Race also.... but he got screwed by the mail bag in his 2nd try.
Gallo
Boston Rob is the best Survivor ever, AINEC. He should've won the first time around, but it was given to Amber because people didn't like Rob. Amber rode his coat tails. People have figured out Russell, but he's had them voted out. And I think Yul was like the 2nd best.
king_tanner
Yeah I don't think Russell would bring Jaison to the finals though. I think he is hellbent on bringing a chick with him if he makes it that far.

I'm not saying that Rob wasn't a very good player, I agree that he could be one of the best. I just think there have been a lot of contestants who have been just as good as him. Brvheart is right, Rob did get screwed his first season. I remember his alliance took over the week after he got voted off.

I hate to use Jonny Fairplay as an example, but he was one of the scrawniest dudes and the biggest Aholes. He made it to the final 3 and would have won if it wasn't for that retarded girl scout leader Lil. You have to put Richard Hatch up there. Lex season 3 dominated but got screwed at the final 3 when that old lady won the challenge (Lex got owned by Rob in All Stars though). The used car salesman guy (I think Brian) dominated. Rob C. from the season Jenna Morasca won also got screwed at the final 3. Fireman Tom and Yul. Chris the truck driver guy who won against like 6 or 7 girls. I'm going to put Yau-Man and Bob up there also for being old and still able to compete at a high level. Stephenie was very good her 2nd season, but she lost for the same reasons Boston Rob lost All-Stars.

And Gallo, Yul ran the show that season. Ozzy won all the challenges at the end, but everyone was on Yul's side and he made every single decision. Amber did ride coattails but Rob royally pissed everyone off.
Governator
Yul's the best survivor ever imo.
brvheart
Being good at challenges is not, what I consider, the most important aspect of being a good survivor contestant.

Yul
Ozzy
Fireman Tom
Rupert
others...

were all really awesome at challenges, but none of them basically did anything strategy wise.

The Rob from the Jenna and Heidi season was a really good survivor.
Boston Rob
Russell H.

They are easily my top 3 survivors. With Stephanie, the one who has been on two seasons, probably coming in 4th.

Yul was all about strategy and the social game as well and that's why he won. Ozzy dominated the challenges that season and Yul basically ran the entire tribe. Yul easily found the hidden immunity idol at exile and although he never used it he basically made the tribe decisions all the way through to the end.

Way too early to say Russell H is a top 3 survivor imo. There are 12 left... lots of room to become a royal screw up.

I agree with Ozzy and Rupert, disagree with Yul and Tom. Both Yul and Tom ran the tribe the whole entire show. Tom dominated in challenges and made all the decisions. He owned the show which is why I thought his season kinda stunk. I don't think Yul won any individual immunities, maybe 1 or 2, remember Ozzy won a lot. Yul made every single strategic decision for his alliance

Jaison is one of the biggest pussies ever. WTF with a guy, supposedly in shape, giving up pushing like that? And do they not know how to row a boat? That dude may look fit, but he's got no balls to back it up. Maybe he gets laid a lot, but I sure as hell wouldn't want him on any team of mine.

GO RUSSELL!!!

Thank God for the upcoming merge , otherwise Monica would be in serious trouble. She probably still is, but this should give her protection.

One of the more entertaining episodes in a while. That was a lot of confusion leading up to tribal.

I think Russel probably used up all his ammo, he's going to need a miracle now. He's got to win a lot of immunity challenges from this point on.

lol...I don't think people would have voted against Erik if he hadn't been such a dick at tribal. Certainly Russell would have got a couple of votes. And, although it wasn't the worst move, if Russell could do math on the fly and could read people like he says he can, he would have known not to play his idol.

Here's how I saw the votes going down, pre-Erik spew:

Shambo: Monica or Jaison
Erik: Jaison
Russell: Erik
Monica: Erik
Nathalie: Erik
Jaison: Erik
Dave: Jaison
John: Erik
Brett: Who knows anything about this dude???
Laura: Shambo or Erik
Kelly: Jaison
Mick: Erik

Even pre-spew, he was likely gone...He flushed the Russell idol out, so good work on that, but the blind-side worked reaaaaaal good. Of course, I'm not there, so I couldn't possibly get a "sense" of what is happening. If it was as chaotic as Russell said, I certainly do't blame him for playing it safe, but now he's been outed and he's at risk.

All of which means Monica will continue to glide gorgeously under the radar. Is there any doubt she's the hottest woman this season?

More about Jaison: Is this guy on an ego trip or what? He gets uppity when he's called out for being slack, yet cannot perform when it's time. He's like the A-Rod of Survivor. His social skills are equivalent to a petulant 10 year old denied access to his game station.

And i really hope Russell can pull something out of his ass. It'd be a real downer to see him go, even if he is quite deluded. It's almost like I knew Laura was going to win immunity in that challenge before it even started.

I agree, Jaison is probably the most overrated player in the game imo. He's really done nothing in the game so far and Erik called him out on it and Jaison's response was how he's been fighting for 25 years... blah blah... I'm not a quitter.. blah blah. I thought the same thing, but I didn't want it to come off sounding like it was based on the results. But I think another reason, Russell shouldn't have played the idol is that he knows if he uses it then he has no more leverage. So what's the difference if he gets booted this past week or next week? If he doesn't use it and gets booted, I don't think it makes a difference. If he uses it and they voted for him, he's more than likely gone the following week anyway. So if he doesn't play it, he still has the chance of using it the following week and a chance of staying a week longer.

I know there have been others who have not used it in the past and were booted, but the targets on their back weren't as big as the target on Russell's back.

I don't know, I think the worst move in survivor history was James from China. He had BOTH idols, told everyone he had them and then never played them and was voted out in like 6th or 7th. Once everyone knows you have them and you were physically the strongest competitor that season that put a pretty big target on him.

lol Erik YOU IDIOT! Where is the sense in talking so much shit about everyone? Part of the game is social you retard.

I really feel like Russell has blown his load. Even the previews next week show Jaison saying Russell needs to go. I think his only out on the other tribe is John now. I didn't have a problem with him playing the idol though. So much shit went down it was hard to know if people were going to go with the plan or not.

It is funny to see those three girls (Laura, Monica, and blond chick) going from down in the dumps to now kind of running things. I like to look at Laura's fake boobs.

I don't think I've ever seen that many people scramble in one survivor episode. This season you can truly not trust anyone. It is almost better to ride coattails, if you say you want someone out then you are just putting a target on yourself.

Yea I agree totally can't trust anyone. Player A asks Player B who they want to see go home tonight. Player B says I guess Player C should go home. Player A then tells Player C that Player B is gunning for them. Player C then says to Player A I want Player B out. Player C wins immunity and then Player B says to Player A "CRAP", then Player C talks to PLAYERS D, E, F, G, H, I...... and Player B goes home.

Did you follow that lol? Such a hard game this season, everyone is just running their mouths. Laying low is totally the way to go. Brett is going far lol.

When the "plan" was already in place before they went to the challenge, I was like "Crap, she's winning immunity."

It is funny to see those three girls (Laura, Monica, and blond chick) going from down in the dumps to now kind of running things. I like to look at Laura's fake boobs.

I don't think I've ever seen that many people scramble in one survivor episode
. This season you can truly not trust anyone. It is almost better to ride coattails, if you say you want someone out then you are just putting a target on yourself.

Yep. Even though I hate her whenever she talks, Laura is a total MILF.

Bolded - I think this was because they've never had a merge with this many people left. Usually merge at 10, right?

Yea I agree totally can't trust anyone. Player A asks Player B who they want to see go home tonight. Player B says I guess Player C should go home. Player A then tells Player C that Player B is gunning for them. Player C then says to Player A I want Player B out. Player C wins immunity and then Player B says to Player A "CRAP", then Player C talks to PLAYERS D, E, F, G, H, I...... and Player B goes home.

Did you follow that lol? Such a hard game this season, everyone is just running their mouths. Laying low is totally the way to go. Brett is going far lol.

Yeah, some of the guys need to relax. There's still a lot of people left. Getting rid of Eric was fine, but they don't need to pull a power blindside every week.

If the men keep finding reasons to pick each other off, they're screwed. We'll end up with a final 4 of Laura, Monica, Kelly, and Natalie. L, M, and K are already pretty tight and I think they'd pick up Nat and run with an all-girl alliance.
