Not that Yasmin would've been smart enough to find it anyway.

Ok so aside from Shambo, I think it's pretty clear players on the purple tribe are going deep in this considering their lack of air time. My boy Erik got a whopping 4 seconds of showtime tonight when he decked Mike and took him out of the game.
- Russell - how on earth did he find the hidden idol infront of everyone.... For a guy who seems stupid it was a pretty smart find.
- Ben - I'm pretty sure your days are numbered
- Yasmin - did not deserve to sleep in their hut, I would've made her find a cave. I didn't realize she was such a bitch.
- Mike - was in no shape what so ever to be playing this game. Producers wasted a spot on him imo.
- Betsy - even though Ben was a jerk, I think it was the right move to get rid of her. Without Mike and Betsy they should match up better against the other tribe.
Unless the purple tribe loses it looks like Jaison is making a pretty bold move to try and get votes against Russell. If purple wins I think I'm in line to win my sidebet as Shambo looks to be on the chopping block. Should be a good ep.

Sigh.... double waste of money for me. 3rd out, and my side bet looks like a shoo-in (or is it shoe-in) for Gov...
Betsy decided she'd rather be right than to win. Yeah, you figured out Russell, good for you, now shut up and play along. No, instead, she has to prove she's a cop.
And Shanbo.... she gets award for most misleading preview video. All she emphasized was her social skills and ability to adapt... instead all she can do is separate from her team. As soon as they lose, she's gone.
To tell the truth, though, I don't know that there's anybody who was available when I picked that I like anyway, so maybe it's better to just be done now. We were definitely into the second-tier longshots by then.

Did you see Asian girl cringe when he used the phrase "ghetto trash" at tribal council? Makes me wonder how much he said in his rant to Russell that was edited out.
Credit to Russell for finding the idol, that was either the best or worst thing to happen on Survivor depending on your viewpoint. I can't stand Russell myself but I do wonder how boring this group would be without him to stir the pot.

Russell is the bomb. He may be full of himself, but he knows what he's doing more than most. Great move, anticipating the hidden idol and snagging it in front of everyone.
Yasmin, Holy crap, what a mouth. I can understand why people would be pissed about her mouthing off like that, but "ghetto trash" is pretty low.
Ben, you are scum, smegma, pus from the boil on a pig's ass.
Jaison and the red shirt dude must be wondering what they got stuck with.

Well, it was from behind and the dude had no clue it was coming and it could have been injury-inducing. On the other hand, there were some pretty harsh tackles and throw-downs, so I'm not sure exactly why the trip was singled out.

It was really more of an outright kick to the legs than a trip. That guy just seems totally oblivious to any strategical considerations in the game. Russell is an *******, but a calculating *******. Ben is just not in control of himself. Probst made the suggestion to him at tribal council by asking if he thinks his behavior has increased his chances of winning and Ben just barreled ahead again.

September 30th, 2009 - APIA, Samoa - A powerful earthquake in the South Pacific hurled a massive tsunami at the shores of Samoa and American Samoa, flattening villages and sweeping cars and people out to sea, leaving at least 99 dead and dozens missing.
Four tsunami waves 15 to 20 feet high roared ashore on American Samoa, reaching up to a mile inland, Mike Reynolds, superintendent of the National Park of American Samoa, was quoted as saying by a parks service spokeswoman.

It's supposed to be a good guys vs villains all stars cast. I think.
Here is a site that is already speculating the cast:
http://www.survivorfever.net/index20.htmlI'm over Amanda, don't need to see her again for a 3rd time. I don't need to see James for a 3rd time. Don't need to see Parvati for a 3rd time. Don't need to see JT again. Stephenie was one of my favorites, I'm ok with her being there for a 3rd time. Randy! Coach! Sandra! Wow Courtney again? They must have paid her a lot to come back out lol.
It will be interesting to see if Boston Rob can scheme his way through again. I'm more a fan of a lot of the older contestansts from earlier seasons, but I understand that they go for a lot of people from more recent seasons since they are fresh in our memory. But if this is the cast, it will be a great season.

The most mind boggling part of the episode was how friendly and accomadating Shambo was to THE OTHER TRIBE. I think she is oblivious to the fact that she is on a game show where there is a 1 million dollar prize for first. She should try acting super nice to her own tribe not the other one.
I agree with everything Jaison said at tribal... I think Ben truly didn't know that there was anything wrong with his racial remarks. Also, props to Russel for finally stepping down and letting someone else tell him how it's going to be. If he stuck to his guns and voted for Ashley he would have been on the outs with the tribe.

Yep.
He is still the master manipulator of this tribe, but stepping down a bit was very smart. he recognized how strong Jaison felt about this one and knew who not to make enemies with. He still seems pretty tight with Jaison and Mick and is in no immediate danger.
Since they traditionally do the merge at 10 (right?), and this being a larger cast (20), I expect there to be some sort of twist or shakeup soon. Otherwise the yellow tribe might not make it to the merge. They seriously need to win something, it's getting ridiculous.

I hate when they shake things up.... it ruins everyones gameplan and gives ppl who suck a fresh start. I personally liked it best when the tribe with stephanie lost every single competition and windled down to just her left. She even spent the next couple days alone until they merged. Thought it was brilliant and what survivor should be all about.

I agree that he has been as effective at manipulating his tribe as he thought he could be.
Where has that gottten him?
A tribe that is completely a mess and no real alliance that will mean anything long term. The goal isn't to destroy your tribe so you are the last man standing from it. Sure, Johnny Fairplay showed that the Villain can make it as far as Third Place, get a little infamy, and first out on the eventual Survivor All Star Season. But ultimately known best for being a prick and getting his teeth knocked out by Danny Bonaduce

Crazy Russ is showing that he can play the game. I thought he'd go early, but he definitely has some staying power. The problem is, his tribe is a disaster, and they will be easy pickings after the merge.
Jaison playing the race card and picking a fight -- that's Survivor suicide. But he seems to have survived mostly unscathed. He seems like an exceptionally smart person, we'll have to see if that translates into good player.
Shanbo showed the side that she showed in the online preview videos. It makes me wonder if she really is on the outs with the other tribe. They show her not getting along with 3 of them, but that leaves 6 others. A little false drama for TV? She may be on the winning side of a 6-4 team.
So far, purple team has basically no air time, so it's pretty hard to guess who will win. They are so dominant, the winner will probably come from their team, but so far they are strangers.

I don't think he is destroying the tribe. He is just trying to get people out who he wants out. It's not like he doesn't try in the challenges. Also, I think with him, Jaison, Mick, and the hotter blond girl there is a strong alliance there.
Sometimes having a tribe that wins everything can lead to their downfall. There will probably be a few people on the purple team that make it to the merge, but will still feel on the outs with their tribe since they aren't in the main alliance. An example of someone in this spot right now is Shambo, even though we haven't really seen any of the purple team alliances. And if the purple team does end up just picking everyone on the yellow team off, it will be a super lame season, like when Tom, the fireman won.
I'm just saying that I don't think the yellow tribe is in trouble, yet.
Also, Johnny Fairplay asked his tribe to vote him out on his 2nd season because he wanted to see his daughter or something, I think he would have done well. Just felt like I would defend him because he is my favorite survivor ever lol.

I think they're over-dramatizing the "Shambo on the outs" bit a little, but there seems to be some truth to it. Would definitely explain why she went out of her way to be super-nice to the yellow tribe. She knows her tribe is dominating, but there will be a merge eventually and it's good to have friends on the opposite side. If Shambo and a couple others realize their not in the power alliance in their own tribe, it's easy to flop at the merge and bring in strong players like Jaison, Mick etc.

Hard to tell what kind of vibe they have at camp since we barely see them, but this is Survivor. Keeping the women happy really shouldn't be the top priority. Someone (I forget who) made a great point that they turn down a tarp and now the first time it rains all their comfort items are going to get soaked.

Yes it was odd/stupid. I'm sure he would have taken the more functional items if he had a chance to talk to his tribe though. He only had 5 seconds to make a decision.

Yeah, we'll see how they like the comfort items when they are soaking wet and the pillows smell like wet dogs, and their tribe is starving. It may come back to haunt Russel a little.
The other thing that nobody mentioned is that an entire show devoted to hot women in bikinis wrestling in water would be quite popular. It's sort of funny that survivor provided them with new bikinis just for the challenge, just in case anyone was thinking of covering up too much.

Exactly, there is nothing smart about implementing a strategy that will have the opposite effect of the goal you're trying to achieve. In the same sentence he says he wants to show how easy it is to win this game, and then explains that his strategy is to make his tribe miserable and sabotage them. Real smart.

The rest: Just like a Gilligan's Island subplot...who the fuck are you people?

Wow big mistake. Yaz may have been worthless around camp but she was great in the challenges.
Could this be the start of a tribe breakdown?

Yeah I thought that was a little dumb as well plus they've upset their leader a bit.
I didn't see the very end where they show the voting. Were Yas and Russell the only 2 Monica votes?
