Actually, if the odds of one of Gramps/Grannie dying before he/she wakes up is 1/500 each night, then it's almost exactly 50/50 that one of them dies in the next 365 dies. I figured the over/under was about 1 year, and my mathematical instincts told me that 1/500 should make the math work out about right. I just ran the maths and:

(499/500)^365 = about 48%, or about 52% that they don't make it. So shut the fuck up, Gramma. Just pass away silently in your sleep so I can get paid.
