You're awesome, thanks. Well not that awesome, really. 44 points? Pick it up! icon_biggrin.gif

Hitching my wagon to a goaltending triumverate of Backstrom, DiPietro and Budaj has proven to have been a serious tactical error. Backstrom gets good stats but rarely wins, Budaj hasn't started a game so far and DiPietro will be laid up for another month or so (at which point he'll start 6 games in a row, tear something, and be gone for the year).

Season is still young and I'm not far enough behind to really start panicking, but my team isn't showing me the stuff I expected coming out of the draft when I was really pleased with my haul.

Ugh, I'm with you then. I have Backstrom and Steve Mason in my other one, fully expecting to tear shit up. Instead I'm second-last in goaltending.

I assume the presence of Budaj on a roster means there are absolutely no goaltenders left in the pool.

I'm very dissapointed in you guys that believed so much in Backstrom/Minnesota. You should have known that was a downward spiral! icon_biggrin.gif

Last year, I got a lot of flack in one of my pools for trading Backstrom+some depth fwds for Bryzgalov+Parise+Pavelec (Pavs was on the farm).

Im smiling now!

ps: please hockey gods, dont let Bryzgalov+Pavelec come crashing back to reality! At least not til I trade them.

There are three goalies available for pickup that have seen NHL icetime this season: Patrick Lalime, Alexander Salak, and Curtis McElhinney.

There are only two goalies available that have actually played this year, both have played a combined two games.

Almost all backups and some third stringers are gone.

Nice job jinxing Bryz! I also have Pavelec who fortunately had Hedberg blow up after Pavelec's ill inducing highlight reel from last week. Should be interesting to see if Lehtonen gets the starting job back when he returns from injury.

I read that Lehtonen's injury might be a lot worse than they thought. Thats my hope, and Im thinking that more and more, Atlanta would like to move on from Lehtonen's issues. But Pavelec has to show a lot for them to do that.

Having Atlanta and Pheonix goaltending scares the crap out of me, but I noticed this year, there are a lot of questions with a lot of goalies, so take what you can.

I have Lundqvist to complete my trio, which USUALLY helps me sleep at night. He ever gets hurt, and Ill be on here posting regularly at 4am, asking if anyone recommends Greiss or Budaj type pickups!

Kinda interesting situation here going into the last Sunday, between me and Belanger. We were 3rd and 2nd respectively coming into this week.

I've got Hemsky, Boyes, and Khabibulin going, while he has O'Sullivan.

I figured out Khabi would have to allow 7 goals on 28 shots for me to lose the save percentage category, and that's unlikely, although not impossible, so I'm close to free rolling a chop on the wins category tonight if the Oilers can win a game.

Offensively, I can tie or beat him in any of the 6 categories I'm currently behind or tied in. The only ones he can beat me in that are tied or I'm ahead in are PPP and SHG. I don't think he can realistically comeback in shots, but it's possible. PIMs are possible too, but I don't see O'Sullivan going crazy tonight.

So, realistically, on a night where we have 3 total players playing, and one goalie, I could take it from 7-7-2 to as high as 13-2-1, although that extreme is unlikely. It is probably most likely we just stay around 7-7 or 9-6 or something closer, but I have a good chance to pick up a few important extra points here today, with the 2 better players going, and the goalie freeroll for 1 point.

Have to say it's been a hell of a matchup. My only problem is I have one goalie, but it's a small problem.
Zach6668
Well... in an interesting twist...

QUOTE
Alex Hemsky is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Avalanche.

If he is unable to go, Patrick O'Sullivan will take his spot on the top line with Dustin Penner and Sam Gagner. It's unclear how serious Hemsky's injury is at the moment. Consider him day-to-day for now.

lol.
mrdannyg
lol, that is a shit Zach.

In my pool, the page was down the other day. As such, I didn't get a chance to adjust my lineups. No big deal as we have short benches, and all it meant was not being able to start Jason Blake a couple nights ago, and not being able to switch out Mike Green for Zidlicky last night.

Difference is going to be a 9-0 loss instead of a 5-3-1 win with both of them having GWG and combined 4 points. ARG.

I am so tilted I can't sweat this league. Standard 'good luck' for whoever is playing Serge this week icon_biggrin.gif
Zach6668
lol, Sully with a power play point, and it gives Scott a 8-7-1 record, which could end up back at 7-7-2 if the Oilers hold on for the victory.

Boourns!

Pretty fitting though, considering how close we were coming into this week.

Nobody really needs a guy like that who will split starts on the worst team in hockey, since we have no minimums anyways.

It makes sense for you, but that's really about it.

after week 2 or 3 I was dead last in the league but it was mainly due to slow starts and bad weeks by some of my key guys. Last 2 weeks have been strong and I've jumped up to 8th. The limidonks will be a good challenge for us, a nice lopsided win could launch me ahead of you.
