The producers say they see an opportunity for an intensely graphic action-drama series in the TV universe. The first draft of the script, they say, was basically “NC-17” in terms of sex and violence and is being toned down -- slightly.

“Much like ‘300,’ there will be a visual beauty to the way it is shot,” says showrunner DeKnight. “There’s an ode to violence ... there are decapitations, people being split in half ... we don’t want to shy away form violence or sexuality. The beauty of being on premium cable is there is no story we can’t tell.”

When I first started to watch the show and saw the effects I lol'd, but once you get over that the show is actually pretty good. I think the last 3 episodes have been awesome. And you couldn't possibly ask for more from the Finale.

One thing that irks me about the dialogue, is that they try and use ancient prose and terms, yet they use fcuk all over the place, it never sounds right when i hear it.

I just got into the first couple episodes and I must say that this is the most porno'd out show I have ever seen. I was watching it at my parents house on Thanksgiving and I had to abruptly turn it off during one of the sex scenes.

Not that I have a problem with any of that, I just have to make sure I watch it when nobody is home lol.

I just watched the last episode of the season... here are my thoughts: holy shit!

The title of the season finale is "Kill Them All" and I hope I'm not spoiling anything by saying that's exactly what they do.

In a rare twist, the only character who I recall surviving was the only character I cared about. Probably the best character ever created.

After season 1, I didn't think the show could have more ****ed up and awesome payoff, but boy was I wrong. this show is amazing.

Um, yes. More sex, more violence, more decadence. It's like season 1, but without all the fat, just pure awesome. I mean, I knew exactly how season one was going to end also, he's fucking spartacus after all, he's a historical figure that leads a slave revolt. That didn't make it any less awesome. I also know how the series is going to end.
