i think this one is easy. the original raiser was prone to raising with strong drawing cards (10Js, etc). he hadn't yet done this from early position, but i didn't have to assume he was strong. once he doesn't cap pre-flop i know i'm ahead. cold-calling at this table was not unusual, and those people particularly were prone to this.

reraising pre-flop seems obvious. i guess my questions are whether to raise the flop and whether to bet the turn. if i don't raise the flop i'm treating it as a drawing hand (albeit a strong one). by raising such a dangerous and weak looking flop i'm hoping to win without a showdown if the drawers miss. on the turn i have the nuts, and frankly, i'd be surprised if anyone has a live draw, ignoring the results.

actually, this hand seems pretty damned straight-forward now that i reexamine it. but i'll post this anyways just to prove to you guys i don't have my head all the way up my butt which i guarantee you will suspect once you see the hands i'll post over the next few weeks.

please just confirm that the flop raise and turn bet were the right play, or explain why they might not be.

Yeah, you have to raise the flop because you have overs and 4 to nut flush.

And betting the turn is also correct as smaller flushes will call and possibly raise you.

you raise the flop to clean up your overcard outs as well as for value (equity) since you expect to win this hand way more than 20% of the time.

Agreed. Just call a flop three bet though...(if it happens)

cap the three-bet if there are at least three others in the pot. with two, just call. with just one opponent, cap it for a turn free card UI (assuming the three-bettor isn't a donk).

you have position with the nut flush draw and two overs--even against one made flush and two paired hands, you have an equity edge.
