Who's excited? I know I am. Last season was my first and I loved it. I mean, gay choreographers, gay male dancers, athletic women in skimpy clothes, fantastic routines by Tyce Diorio. What?
Anyway, I think the actual real shows are better than the goofy auditions, but I'll deal with it.

I'm definitely down, my favorite summer show.
The gay is all the dude ballroom dancers who prance around.
The not gay is the smoking hot chicks who are in amazing shape who can bend in ways that seem impossible.
The gay is the vote-off show. It is even gayer than the american idol vote off shows.
The not gay is the auditions. There are seriously talented people (especially hip-hop dancers) who are really good, but don't make the show because they are one-dimensional. It is cool to watch them in their dance they are good at though.
The gay is that one annoying chick judge. 10 times worse than Paula Abdul.
Overall, I love this show though. To be truly gay we would be posting in a Dancing with the Stars thread. That is by far the worse reality show on TV that gets huge ratings. I can't see how anyone sits through that horseshit. Even the celebrities who are good are unwatchable, and the judges are annoying beyond belief.

But speaking of gay, I cannot believe that one of those two guys who danced ballroom together thinks he is straight.

So the 1st episode was pretty good, a lot more quality then crap.
What I don't understand is why they even bother to give the joke performances a serious critique. They are never going to be real dancers, so why even bother telling them what they did wrong. Mind boggling.
I will say that if a legit chick dancer did a routine with light sabers that it would be the most awesome thing ever.
The one guy who had a guy partner that said he wasn't gay was obviously gay. He was wearing a scarf, and all guys who wear scarfs are gay. That also goes for all European guys who wear scarfs to soccer games.

Hahaha, that was the first thing out of me wifes mouth.
The salsa chick with the smoking body gives new meaning to the word 'spinner'.
I did not expect the two swimmer brother to be able to dance, but they were pretty good.
Demi Moore mohawk judge was annoying the crap out of me, crying at every dance. My wife and I are convinced that the moves in that weird interppretive dance must have some kind of dance/sign language meaning that only those people get. Because we are dumfounded how looking at your hand is "emotional"

See, we differ here, and I attribute that to me being a homo, but I like the final 20 a lot better than the rest of the fluff. The hip hop dancers, the pop and locking, it's cool for a minute then that's it, nothing more. It gets boring after a bit and they are limited dancers at best. Gev wasn't bad last year though, but he was a talented cat.
And don't make me go find last year's thread where you loved the black, ridiculously in shape, excellent dance from Miami last year.
That chick he was hanging with, the girl from last year, what a weird face. I usually am a walking boner for redheads but her face was just weird. Nice body though.
The two dudes dancing was just funny and uncomfortable in the most delicious way. The little 18 year old spinner from Miami would be fun to throw around for a day.
The mohawk choreographer judge is a tad crazy, but hey, she's a chick with a mohawk so that's expected, but it didn't bother me because it actually felt genuine, so that's ok in my book.
Can't wait for my first Mia Michaels appearance. She' always cranky

So from last night, I think the guy who was dressed up as a 50's dancer with suspenders is a front runner. His brother who tapped was also very good, I don't think he will make it though.
From the girls it is hard to pick front runners because a lot of them do the same stuff. If I had to pick 2 people from last night, maybe the salsa dancer from Miami who's partner was throwing her around. Also, the blond girl from Memphis, who's sister made it in Miami. She seemed very good.

The way he was making faces at people while they were dancing is pretty unprofessional. They're already nervous as **** to begin with. It can really mess somebody up and cause them to be worse than they actually are. Yes some people deserved it, but some didn't, like those who take dancing seriously but just aren't very good.
There was one girl in particular that you could tell was really affected by the way Tyce was reacting to her during the middle of her routine. She just got a demoralized look on her face and then it looked like she forgot what she was supposed to do. Yes she was bad, but his reaction had a direct impact on the quality of her audition, and caused her to get humiliated on national tv.

Fuck em. They know they suck and deserve to get ridiculed and have a reality check slapped in their face.
I'm halfway through tonight's ep and that little asian chick Asuka was ridiculously sexy, and I'm not usually gaga over asian girls. She just exuded sexiness. As did that 17 year old kid. Completely disagree. If they can't dance in front of a guy making weird faces, how are they going to be able to dance for a studio audience? Also, if they suck ass at dancing they deserve to get humiliated, unless they have some kind of mental disability where they don't know any better.
Nobody tonight really stuck out to me. I was disappointed that they didn't let the break dancer perform solo, he did well with his partner though. Hopefully he will make it to the top 20.
Are there any girl hip hoppers this year? All the best dancers seem to do the same stuff. It kind of gets old after awhile.

I mean, I didn't think her contemporary was that bad (not that I know what the hell I am talking about, but I thought it wasn't bad) and it DEFINITELY wasn't as bad as Gabby's hip-hop...I can do better than that...eesh.
I figured if Natalie was doing very poor, they would have made it more a storyline as someone who did pretty good last year comes back and does worse.

Was Natalie the ginger? I'm pretty sure the judges know what they are doing. If they show us a couple clips of someone being amazing, the rest of the audition she could be dancing like crap. It just isn't shown.

I spent the last two shows wondering how much I would pay to crack Mia in the face. She came off as some sort of irrational, angry miser who has personal vendettas with contestants (for no apparent reason......I cant remember that guy doing anything worthy of pissing off a judge).
The top 20 was fine.....putting the brothers at the end was predictable and still cruel.

My wife thinks that they had expectations so high for him that no matter what he did, he could not live up to him. I think his smiling also came off to Mia like being cocky, when it is very obvious that it is a nervous smile because he is not all that comfortable being critiqued.

I thought it was funny, he was so upset. I was thinking to myself, wouldn't he have at least thought of his contract to himself BEFORE trying out?
I mean, did the producers just tell him it would be fine, knowing it would create a good storyline with him getting denied at the end?
I blame himself for not investigating whether he can do it or not.
Mia and Lil' C tearing apart Brandon (I think thats his name?) was pretty ridiculous. Granted I thought last year he had a bit of cocky swagger about him, but getting rejected from top 20 really humbled him this year, IMO. I really loved this whole week. No one stood out as bad enough to warrant bottom three, let alone going home.
Top 4 (I would do top 3, but I think there were 4 reallll good ones) - Phillip and Janine (Hip-Hop), Jason and Caitlin (Bollywood), Ade and Melissa (Contemporary), Max and Kayla (Samba)
Bottom 3 - Askua and Vitolio (Broadway), Paris and Tony (Hip-Hop), Karla and Jonathan (Cha-Cha)
And I think from those 3, Tony and Karla go home.
I love Evan and Phillip still, and I LOOOOVE any type of Bollywood.
I usually hate most ballroom stuff, but that Samba was realllll good.
Ade is a sleeper.
There is really no one I want to send home right now. I could watch those 20 just mix and match every week and perform a new thing...I would be continuously entertained.
