Not really a shock but he was great for baseball and the LA area.

would love to know what drug, as some drugs act like steroids lol
Oziumrules
Manny said he went to a doctor last month for a "personal issue" and was given a medication that triggered a positive test. He said it wasnt a steroid or PHD.

Damn, that screws my team over.

Whatever, if that is the case he should be appealing it. GG easy season (West is bad enough and they have a head start), but I guess Manny will be well rested for the 2nd half...

Pretty sure I'm going to need to change avatars though, Stars better not give me any shit. I need to find a good pic of Andre now lol.

Sigh, ruined my day to say the least.
PMJackson21
Sigh, from dodgerthoughts:

Fifty years ago tonight, 93,103 gathered at the Los Angeles Coliseum to honor fallen hero Roy Campanella. The Dodgers have a special celebration planned for this evening to celebrate that anniversary and the 1959 World Series championship team. And now ...

Lol, from p5s thread:

Q. whats the difference between mannyroids and aroids?

A. mannyroids work in October
kobe2odom8
I'm just done with baseball for now. No im not surprised but this is very upsetting to me. FINALLY the dodgers are playing well and bam this happens. weee juan pierre in left field. btw rose the drug is hcd.

Flushgarden
Ok, it's for erectile dysfunction.

Could this help him play baseball any better? lol

I don't see how he deserves any suspension. His reputation is ruined because the world now thinks he's been on steroids his whole career. I feel bad for him.
timwakefield
He's one of the few players who I give the benefit of the doubt. The man does not need steroids, and it sounds like there's a decent chance it is a false positive. Or that it was a true positive but the substance was prescribed by a doctor for non-baseball-related activities, in which case I don't see how they could suspend him (hopefully for Manny's sake it was an American doctor).

Edit: Okay so I actually decided to read the articles at least partially, and it seems the drug is used "primarily" for men whose balls stopped working because of previous steroid use. Say it ain't so Manny!!! (Thank you for not being on the Red Sox right now.)

And PMJ, Stars will totally let you change your picture. For a player like you they'd let you change it every week I bet smile.gif.
rcgs59
the sad part of this is that baseball has considered PHD banned substances. Any males with any PE or EDD problems should know that treatment medication wise are Hormone based or HCG. Being hormone based includes testosterone which is banned even in the Olympics. How could he not ask his doctor these type of questions. Being in sports with strick drug restrictions. Better yet the team doctor would for sure know this and not prescribe such a substance. Was he not up front with the Team physican. Risking this or not being honest with his team physican is a bigger question. Why didn't he seek a specialist in that area in with a sports medicine consult. He has the money for that. I know it's a matter of pride with the ladies as well but use common sense. Medicine has moved a long way since the dark ages but honesty has to go with it. In other words he knew what he was taking.

I don't understand the Major League Drug policy. I used to write drug policies for corporations. And if someone tested positive for a prescribed drug, as long as their was a valid reason someone used that drug it was ok. The most common one was amphetamines, in cold medication.

Why does the MLB not recognize a prescription?
eYank
Giving the term "Mannywood" a whole new meaning

It does, but they have to approve the prescription in advance of using it.

For example, the year MLB banned amphetamines they got a flood of guys suddenly needing a prescription for their newly diagnosed attention deficit disorder. Just a coincidence I'm sure, but since these guys had a legit prescription they are allowed to use those drugs.

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and guess Manny didn't get permission because it was being used as a masking agent. Just a hunch.

Can probably add ARod to make it the three best hitters of the era.

Baseball has its fingers crossed that Griffey and Pujols dont end up on the dirty list as well.

Like Nomar tearing his groin muscle completely off the bone.

I think players are getting it to hard i mean it wasn't against the rules until recently so why wouldn't they take PED?

I mean Sammy Sosa went from almost nobody to a household name in a year.

Am I wrong, or aren't the anonymous lawyers who leaked these names explicitly breaking the law? I'm not gonna rant about how everybody is guilty until proven innocent in the media, I'm just gonna say that it's an incredibly douchebag thing for the lawyers to do. If they're gonna do things like break court orders whenever they feel like it, why should we believe them when they won't even tell us their own names or what drugs were found, and when they only single out two specific names out of a list of 104 people and provide no evidence. I mean, they probably did both test positive in 2003, but it seems to me that the lawyers leaking the names are the real cunts in this whole situation.

Yes it's unfair, but who really cares. It's not like they can take away 2004 and 2007 like they do in the NCAA.

Every gen has used PED's. Let 'em, it's their choice.

Isn't it the type of thing that would get one instantly disbarred though? Do you think the lawyers who leaked it got paid to do so?

He should have been suspended for the season without pay. Premadonna millionare child. He needs to cut his hair and grow up. I'd love to get paid 20 million over a summer.

Actually, I think he came after Madonna.

I assume you want to see David Ortiz suspended for the season too.
