I think Madden and Pat Summerall were a great team, maybe it's because I grew up listening to them but the last few years it seemed Madden did ramble alot. Playing the Madden video game so much probably just made me sick of his voice, IDK. Sure he was a good announcer, and definitely was entertaining with some of the stuff he said.

You know, to win this game, you really gotta score more points than the other team. Or you aren't gonna have much of a chance!

Jim Rome is no where near as a big of a name as Madden but Caliendo's impression of him is my favorite.

You guys are smoking sherm. Madden and Summerall were a hall of fame combo, but Madden circa 2008 was a ****ing zombie. Collingsworth is going to be infinitely better than madden's corpse, and I think is the most informative color commentator working right now. I don't understand all the hate for him at all, I think he's great.

This is all pretty much true. Madden said stuff that was way too obvious most of the time. Collinsworth is the best analyst working today.

Gruden replaces TK

I totally disagree with the author of that piece. I loved Kornheiser.

I pretty much agree with him, I love him on PTI, his timing and rambling would ruin parts of the MNF broadcast.

TK was awful imo on mnf.....but great on pti

Today, Gruden was on Sportscenter and answered 3 questions; Farve returning, if the coach of the Bills can handle TO, and if any team will pick up Michael Vick. I didn't like Gruden's cadence and his accent annoys me. He didn't give an outright opinion on any of the three topics. Right or wrong, Tony would have brought it.

From what I've seen of Gruden as an analyst on NFL Network he just didn't have it. He can't be any worse than Tony was on MNF though.

I didn't like Gruden during the Steelers/Cardinals preseason game Thursday night.

Maybe he'll grow on me but I doubt it.

Kornheiser added entertainment value. Gruden will get those annoying 'coach' questions which isn't very interesting to me.

Collinsworth is informative but he is also a bit of a prick. Guys like that are going to have a lot of detractors. I just wish Fox was hiring him to replace that asshat joe buck. **** that guy.

oh and the best guy in the business is Ron Jaworski ainec.
