I made a very silly (read: drunk) bet with a friend of mine's American flatmate.
We both get to choose 2 teams from each conference to win the championship. Unfortunately I know sweet FA about basketball. All I know is if I get the chance I'm picking the Lakers and Boston. But other than that I don't know who's good these days!
The bet isn't much ($20) but I'm a huge dog to this dude in terms of knowledge.
Help is greatly appreciated FCP!

I don't much about the West, but in the East (outside of Boston), Cleveland, Orlando, Atlanta, or Philly would all be solid picks. I would lean towards Cleveland and Orlando if I didn't get Boston.

From the East my order of preference would be :
1. Cleveland
2. Boston
3. Orlando
4. Atlanta (although they really don't have a chance)
West:
1. LA (by a fairly wide margin)
2. Denver
3. Portland
4. Houston
The last three from the West are all incredibly close.
The overall favorite would have to be the Lakers.
