I want some new music and I'm really bad at finding new music that's not mainstream. I really like stuff in the line of Kanye West, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., Talib Kweli, Lil' Wayne, etc. Stuff like that. I'm open to new or old stuff, too. I've heard ATCQ was Kanye before Kanye, so maybe I should check them out. Halp? Go!

I remembered the thread and just scrolled through 3 pages to find it. The search function on this site sucks.

Yes. Also ATCQ is awesome, go buy all their albums.
I kind of have a love/hate relationship with old school rap. Some of my favorite rap music is from old school artists, but the beats that accompany the lyrics are sometimes awful. I wish that some old school artists would look into maybe re-mastering or remixing old songs with new background music.

When it comes to Old School Rap, I like the classics, Tupac, Biggie, NWA, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, all great... sad to say those are "old school" hahah! Sugarhill Gang is pretty sweet too, they got Apache and Rappers Delight for big hits, and the rapper Nas is always solid too. Donno if that helps ya find ya some but those are my favorite "old school rappers" lol
