Bill Gates is back to be the richest.

Good little brief article on how the economy has effected the wealthy, especially in countires that were hit hard by the recession such as India and Russia.

16/50? That is much better than the national average. I only noticed 2 to be single and many of the older ones are widowed.

People never seem to know this, but Warren Buffett lived openly in a three-way relationship for decades. He, his wife, and his mistress lived together, vacationed together, and sent Christmas cards signed, "Warren, Susie, and Ingrid." Susan Buffett died a couple years ago, so I guess he has an opening.

Everyone in Omaha was pretty blase about it, and somehow the media never made a frenzy over it.

Kicked him up several notches in my book of cool.

Buffett is one of the coolest billionares around. He gets love for his stock philosophy, but not for being so utterly awesome.

didnt read them all, but most of the top 10 have moved on. How much of that was due to drowning in money?

Didn't he screw his kids over regarding any inheritance? He is very odd and yet very impressive.

Thank God. Just like Entertainment Tonight, I need to know that the richest people in the world are doing OK. It's always a heartache to hear they're going through stuff millions of others do, only they are doing it much more publically and with way more money. I just don't know how they get through the day sometimes.

The sub articles were interesting and what did you expect? I got it from MSN and I posted it on a poker forum in the off topic section. But its ok, we all are cranky sometimes.

I did a pointless math equation after I heard how much Warren made in 2007, one of his best years iirc.

he made enough to buy 15 brand new Ferrari's an hour, or around 3 million an hour. sigh i wish i made $3,000,000 an hour. sad.gif

I dunno -- if I made three mil an hour, I think I could stand to work for a whole day.

lol...oh, hey, this wasn't a swipe at you at all. Rather, it was a global swipe at how wrapped up so many people have become with celebs and such. It's just a grotesque irony of life that those of us who are not wealthy are inclined to spend our hard earned time and money supporting the paparazzi industry, like ET, who falsely protray themselves as a "news" show, when it's all just promotion and a way to keep the $$$ cycling upwards to those who already have plenty. It's what is wrong about capitalism.

You, Teresa, are entitled to have a crush on Bill Gates. Heck, he probably has a big dick, too, to go along with those billions.

Also, it may surprise most here that I am actually quite light-hearted and irreverant when all is said and done. Quite the opposite of the doom and gloom anger I unleash in some threads.

There was a point before Sam Walton died that he was making like $1000/second.

When he died his fortune was divided equally to 5 kids. All 5 were in the top 10 richest in the world for the next 15 years. (The 4 still living are all still in the top 15)

yeah, same walton would still be number one if her were alive. Of course, John D Rockafeller's zombie would probably be number one, if he was still around
