I pot the flop with the strong nut low draw to charge a flush draw but then I get a terrible turn card. Now I'm stuck with an inflated pot and greatly reduced equity. Is it check-fold time on the turn?

you should be betting this turn. if you decide to check for some reason you should fold.

Why?

when its HU and you have the lead and the turn pairs you should be betting close to 100% of the time. people fold too much on paired boards.

just thought I'd add some emphasis to the second half of that statement

you can also c/r the turn against some players.

my stupid caroling probably talked at least one of them out of calling, but im playing like such a wiseass at this table i couldn't help myself. they probably would have hit their lows anyway, so i might not mind the folds.
