Ok, so I am in the championship game with my law school friends. We each put in 200 bucks so there is a decent amount of money on the line between 1st and 2nd.

My definite starters:

QB---Rivers
WR---Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald
RB---Adrian Peterson
TE---Witten (although I sense he will have a bad game tonight)
K---Bironas
DEF---Colts (got me 11 pts Thurs. night which is not bad)

I still need to fill one WR spot and one RB spot. My choices are:

RB: Leon Washington, Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson, Jonathan Stewart
WR: Davone Bess, Santonio Holmes, Devery Henderson

I need to pick one of those four RBs and one of those three WRs. (I drafted so well but Reggie Bush has been hurt a lot which has made me juggle my RBs a lot and Chris Chambers has been a bust.) Any thoughts?

Right now, I am leaning towards starting Benson and Bess.

I would lean towards Benson and Holmes, but honestly, I have no idea what kind of season bess is having at all. I'd take Ced Ben for sure, how ever.

Leon Washington has been on a roll recently, I would be tempted to start him. But Benson is definetely the safer choice. I think Holmes and Henderson is pretty much a coin flip, though I'd lean towards Henderson due to the match up.

you've already got some good advice but let's go through every player

Running Backs:

jon stewart: he's a comedian

jonathan stewart: he's a rb. he's been coming on strong lately but look at his road numbers. 1 TD all year (week 3) and most yards was 56. they're also playing a tough team in the Giants. no go.

leon washington: look at this guy's game log. mr. inconsistent should be his name. he might do well but you can't trust him

ricky williams: he's consistent. consistently below average. he'll get you something like 50 total yards. maybe since they're playing KC they get inflated a bit.

ced benson: he's your choice. he's coming off a great game against WAS but like JS he hasn't performed great on the road. though, he came in mid season and didn't hit his stride till after a few games. plus he's playing the browns.

order of preference: CD, RW, JS, LW.

wideouts:

davone bess: becoming a bigger part of the offense lately AND he's playing KC

santonio holmes: BAD: on the road. playing tennessee. GOOD: no albert haynesworth. BAD: do you want to trust the steelers offense?

devery henderson: playing the bears on the road. has drew brees and no reggie. never had more than 4 receptions this year. but when he did he got 100 yards.

I would say these three are VERY close in terms of your decision. the first guy is coming on strong and playing a bad team but he's new so a bit unknown. your "best guy" is playing a tough D and his offense isn't really great. the third guy might have a bigger role with no bush and he has a passing offense but they're on the road in chicago and he might only get 3 receptions so you'll have to hope they count. go with the guy playing KC I say.

so I came to the same conclusions as everyone else just took me longer and more words. you can learn a lot by looking at the game logs and hopefully watching games a bit and remembering stuff you see during games and what the experts say afterwards. they might be "idiots" to us but they're getting paid for a reason.

I am going to roll the dice with Benson and Bess. Every week I have started Bess the Dolphins have won their game. So what the hell.

Witten had a nice game. My opponent had Peyton Manning though so I have work to do. It would be nice if AP could throw down one of those 22 car, 190 yds, 2 TD games against Atlanta.

Nice for you maybe, I face him in a game of my own and I would not be pleased. Good luck though.

I'd start Benson easily. Weather is going to be awful up in Cleveland so he might get 30 carries. Then I'd go with Santonio. He should be good for around 5/80 with maybe a TD

My team is having a HUGE day. But so is his. ****ing Colston, ****ing Titans D.

Up 4 points with AP and AJ left. He still has Carlson at TE, Thomas Jones (eep), Eddie Royal, and Jason Elam at K. It will probably be really tight assuming Peterson has a good day.

Starting Bess over Santonio holmes might have cost me this one (15 pts to 5.5 pts). Oh well, Dolphins pulled out another game so it was worth it.

henderson also got 96 yards

you have to put most of the blame for the loss on AJ and AP though. such is life in FF. do everything right and get screwed.
