Thoughts on flop turn and river play reason for checking river was to try and get him to shove with a weaker ace, figured he would rr AK

ez fold pre sorry his aj hit

As a sizable chip leader I'm folding everything but the very top of my range.

I think we could make a solid argument for folding KK in this spot, where our equity is so delicate.

AQ is a clear fold though.

please explain further

what he means by that is that in a DoN if you double up early you can practically fold into the money, our equity doesn't increase very much by getting extra chips but

it plummets if we lose them.

and another thing, just don't play aq utg in like any sng.

edit: that's not exactly true I bet we can profitably shove aq utg 5 handed with less than 10 bb's in a reg sng but there is no reason to play pots right now.

I agree with the above posts. All you need to do is win one big hand in these. You can easily fold your way into the cash here without having to play a hand. I'd stick to cheap flops and monster preflop hands. No need to play AQ utg here.

thanks for explanation what your saying makes good senses

if this was a regular sng should you fold AQ UTG say 5/6 handed with >10bb

I'd definitely play that hand in a regular SNG, but the betting would be a lot different. You priced him in on almost every street. Small raise preflop (not bad really), flop bet was good, turn was far too small. That's where you really should have shoved because your bet really doesn't accomplish anything other than give you less fold equity.

I'd play it like this -

CO (t2005)
Button (t1317)
SB (t1775)
BB (t1020)
Hero (UTG) (t2890)
MP1 (t1245)
MP2 (t2210)

Hero's M: 8.38

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Ah,Qh
Hero raises to t450, 1 fold, MP2 calls t450, 5 folds

Flop: (t1245) 2h,Ac ,4s (2 players)
Hero bets All-in.

Slightly off-topic, but if you were say a decent player with a tiny bankroll ($10) would playing the DorN's be a decent way to work it up to say $40?

Easy money, extremely boring.

it def matters on your position, the other stacks and how they are playing. Usually I'll open 1010, ak from utg but I'll shove aj, 77+ from the cutoff. If theres huge stacks in front of me I'll either shove or fold, if we're both huge stacks like 20+bb's I might raise/ fold, if they are smaller stacks I'll prob shove on them wider than that. Check out sng wiz and play with ranges a bit.

....why?

And yeah, fold preflop. Especially in a $1 DoN. You can fold to the money

I'm doing exactly this, just be prepared to run into variance, with such a small bankroll you can lose the 10 bucks (i hit a bad run early and I'm still trying to catch back up, to be fair ive made bad decisions as well)
