Actually had time off from work Friday night, and after seeing them on Craig Ferguson decided to check them out.
They were actually pretty good. Ira Siegel is a great guitarist, he can play any style from Buck Dharma to Wes Montgomery. Kevin Bacon's voice is ok and Michael is a solid song/score writer. Theres a lot of humor and Philly references, not taking themselves too seriously but its not throwaway music either.
On the other hand the Larry Bagman (bass player in "Walk the Line") Band was typical country schlock and the Next was simply awful. We were sitting next to a group that knew the lead singer, and even they were yawning during their whole set.The lead guitar player wasn't awful, but a rip off of "the Edge", and I wanted to find out more about him....but guess what...try googling "the Next" and find this particular band! Dumb name.
