Fold preflop, fold river.

River could be a call if you think he's doing this with any ace or as a bluff but he looks very strong here. Could be a set/better ace/random 8. I doubt it's A9 or A4-A7 often if at all. I also doubt it's an 8 other than A8/K8 but you never know.

God, what a horror show of a hand...

Fold preflop.

River is interesting.

Remember - only two aces beat you. A8 and AK. Every other Ace is a chop. So, you could be calling to split. That, to me, is reason enough to fold.

If he's bluffing, good for him...he'll eventually bluff when you have a stronger hand.

There might even be an argument here for folding the turn. On the turn, do you think you're ahead? Or are you just lost? Another reason to fold this hand preflop.

If you're ahead on the turn you're ahead on the river (or tied). He isn't raising with Q8 on the turn.

As played, I wonder if there's an argument to bet 800-1000 on the river after BB checks. The only reason I can think of betting the river is to prevent a bluff....but maybe he's bluffing with a weak ace, where after a bet he'll only call with it.

Regardless, your mistake was preflop, and it cost you nine big blinds.

Folding this preflop stops you from ever being in this situation. I never raise UTG here w/ A10os, and I certainly don't limp. Folding>>>>>>Raising>Calling

Open limping ATo UTG ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

So folding ATo is because we are OOP or it is a lousy hand.

Both. I probably wouldn't start playing aces UTG with anything less than AQ at that blind level, and I would never limp.

Limping it is the worst thing you can do because of the reverse implied odds if you hit in a multiway pot.
