Wondering what some of you think about my shove...(I realize that I should have just gone all in, but I don't think that matters since I have 970 behind, since villian will know I am committed regardless). I think I under-represented my hand and that I could easily be good.

I don't hate it. Been there, done that! I'd re-raise preflop depending on the read in most cases. Flatting here really sucks because you are basically playing for set here and you really aren't deep enough.

Why are we calling pre and c/c'ing a flop bet? A call pre might be okay, but the only reason I'd c/c a flop bet is if I was drawing to the nuts (or close to it) or knew I had villain beat. 99 here with a weaker flush draw isn't close to either.
I don't see how we're good here often enough for this line to pay off.

I thought outloud to myself that I might just be guessing by raising all in - yet I still did it because I thought that I represented a very strong hand.
I think calling the raise preflop oop is the best play. I think folding preflop with 99 is way too weak, while reraising oop bloats the pot unnecessarily and puts us in a terrible spot if we are re re raised. After the turn, I can definitely see an argument for check folding. But as played, if you were the villain, what would you call me down here with?

I think most of the time he would be c-betting the flop.
If he calls your raise on 4th street he probably has Ah or Kh.
It might even have been a monster for him with ATo with Ah.
But i wouldn't raise on 4th street.
I feel that since you c/c the flop and villian fire 4th street , i would throw my hand away.

you essentially turned your hand into a bluff here.
however, it is a pretty good bluff. you have shown a ton of strength by flatting that flop and then check raising that turn. unless he has a big hand or drawing a big draw i dont see getting a call here.

I would have raised the flop, not a terrible play on the turn although I would have put it all-in if I was going to make this play.
