Villain was showing down some good hands to build up the chip lead and playing fairly tight.

Id bet here, in an $11 turbo you're still getting called here by most tens.

You gotta get max value from your big hands early in these 180 mans. I think I'm either check raising the turn or leading the river

and to answer your question, yes you played the hand very weak

He probably would have led or c/r'd you with trips, and probably would have fired on the river if he hit a straight draw.
If you put 1100 of a ~2300 stack in the pot before the river, be willing to get the rest in on the river no matter what. A value bet wouldn't be bad here, but you've gotten nearly half your stack in. Even a dimmer villain would realize he's probably beat if he sees a value bet and probably isn't giving you any more chips.
Villain played the hand like a station, and he's the big stack. Clearly, he's scored a few big pots in prior hands. Previous play would clue you in to whether you're in trouble here: How had he taken down his previous pots? Was he calling down those as well? Did he slowplay any big hands, or was he more aggressive when he made strong hands?

Once he checks the river you've lost any chance at getting value out of the hand. It's pretty safe to say you extracted the max.
What do we estimate his chances of calling a river shove?
What do we think about leading out for 200 or 300, giving him (although we know it truly doesnt) a chance to push us out by reshoving over the top? Yeah, we'd be getting 5-1 plus to call, but you can't give your opponents credit for realizing that in the heat of the moment. Hell, we saw some redic moves in the WSOP ME, and that's slightly higher stakes than this.

I didn't take the time to figure up how much was in the pot or how much we had left on the river, but I would probably lead out here with 3/4 pot bet on the river as played. I raise more on that flop.

On the river there is 2600 in the pot, and hero has rougly 1100 behind.. Villain has him covered... So umm.. thanks for that gem

In this case I totally agree. How about if the villain had 88, 99, JJ, or even AT for that matter. I think it's safe to say that it would definitely make sense to throw out a value bet here seeing as the only logical thing that beats you here is 66 and even that is far fetched.

I think any hand that beats you probably check raises the turn, since it looks like you would be committed. This line by the villain probably means a flush draw (and I would bet small on the river to possibly induce a bluff). I think as a large stack, he probably would have overplayed top pair on the flop.

Thanks for all the input. My thinking while playing the hand was I only had one pair and I thought he would only call me with hands that beat me, and since I still had a enough chips if I lost the hand it would be better to see a showdown than to go broke at that point.
Was this thinking wrong?
It seems like most think a value bet would be the best play.

Nah not to be a dick but you really have 2 pair lol the board is paired and your hand is very strong on this board. You should hardly ever be beaten here. If you give him good enough odds he should look you up with a lot that you beat. He played his hand pretty horribly tho esp on the turn and I can see where I'd start becoming suspicious too. But then again this is an 11$ sng and if I end up coolered with kings, well you can't do anything about it but fire up another one.

He limp/called....what sort of hands is he doing that with? I can understand with that paired board being a scare card if it was paint, but a 3 shouldn't scare you if you bet and he flatted the turn....based on the preflop play. I have a problem sometimes of putting a hand together sometimes, but he can't have a hand that beats you here based on that line (if he is somewhat competent that is).

After think more about it I think this is what got me the most. I really couldn't figure out what he had. I didn't think the way he played it that he had top pair, so I guess I felt it was better to be safe

I shove and see what he can call me with. We can't be behind often so let's give him a chance to call getting 3.5:1.

Quickly sharkscoping him turns this into a snap shove.
