I've been running pretty bad lately and betting more than usual. Yesterday I just made a 5 game parlay, and somehow Pittsburgh blew a 3-2 lead going INTO the 3rd where they are normally awesome, and Buffalo is normally crappy, and the Pens had a 5-3 to start the 3rd. So that was pretty lame.

I ended up chickening out, and cashing out my initial deposit, so that I wouldn't lose it all, and so that I'd start betting smaller amounts again.

Alright kiddies, time to bring back the challenge thread. I need to keep myself on track here. From now on I'll do my analysis posts in here and maybe just post my selections in RTE. Have to like the Devils in this one, as well a possible play on the over. Montreal is getting bitten pretty hard by the injury bug right now with Tanguay and Price both out of the lineup. The Devils have been playing good hockey, going 14-6 over their last 20 games. Montreal didn't look that great on the road against Tampa, needing a shootout to beat them 2-1 in their last. Jersey is coming home after going 2-1 on a short road trip, having scored 10 goals in that span. Lets take 1u NJ, ½u over 5.5

I'm gonna go with a hunch here and pick the Blues. Yeah, they suck, but looking over the teams they've faced in their last 10 you see the likes of NJ, BOS, SJ x 2, WASH. In their last 3 games they managed to beat the Sharks which is no small feat, and kept it close to NJ and ANA, losing 3-2 in both contests. Carolina on the other hand has beaten Atlanta twice, Florida, and Montreal twice while losing to basically any other decent team. Last two meetings between these teams have ended 1-0, so I don't mind a play on the under as well. Take ½u STL and 1u under.

Hard to get a read on this game, the Jackets come in having won 3 straight, but pretty much everything else points to an easy 2pts for the Avs. Colorado's 7-1 in their last 8 at home, while Columbus is 2-13 in games played in the mile high city. The Avs stunk out the joint in Phoenix on new years' eve though, and Columbus hasn't allowed a goal in three games....Tough one. Ride the hot team and take 1u CLB and 1u Under.

Have to like the coyotes to take this one, but laying -185 is too high for my liking. I'll have to take a look at the -1.5 line, possible play there. Phx has played well at home this year, going 12-5-0-2, and the Isles have lost 8 of 10 and 6 straight on the road. Early thoughts are 2u Phx -1.5.

I see this being a tight close game, one of those that will finish 2-1, 3-2. Can't pick a winner really, both teams have been shut out by Columbus in the past week, and Anaheim has lost 4 of 5. Philly hasn't been much better, losing 3 of 5 with their wins coming at the expense of the Canucks and lowly Senators. Gonna take 1u under.

One thing that i think we should consider is instead of the -1.5 line, the win in regulation line...Its usually very good and winning by 1.5 goals is tough ...

I really like the Philly/Anaheim under. Two banging teams that might fill the penalty box. The under is a good play, IMO.
I also like the St. Louis gambool. After a string of playing tough teams, any normal team looks like they're a peewee team.

Nice work, I'm totally out of action ever since my blowup. I might redeposit for the playoffs but more likely I'm done until next season. I can't seem to pick anything correctly anyway so it's all for the best.

Yeah I'm done as well until I get a bit back from my future bets, but they weren't very much so I'll prob just let it ride on a 3 or 4 game parlay and go for it.

I think you should have to cheer for the Leafs or say something nice about them since they won you a parlay.

They also helped to kill me tonight, so we'll hold off on the appreciation.
