Regrettably, I have never read Moneyball, so maybe someone who has can tell me - is this really a book that would transfer well to the big screen? Who would Brad Pitt play, Billy Beane? Who will portray Paul Depodesta, Fred Savage?

I dont think it would translate well but I would still watch it.

Moneyball was a good book, could probably make an OK picture.

One movie that must- MUST- be made into a movie is "Prophet of the Sandlots" about scout Tony Lucadello. It's an "academy award type story" with the added bonus of having the built-in draw of being a baseball movie.
