they advocate breaking an 87 on the first draw here.

then dj sensi who is a respected lhe player says you are a favorite to make at least your hand or better.

i thought you were a favorite to make your hand or better if you have a 9 with no straight draw?

All I know is that every time I pat with a rough 8 from the beginning, I end up getting outdrawn...

Seriously, though, it does make sense. an 87 is unlikely to hold up in a multi-way pot so with 24578 you have nothing to lose by treating it like any 2457 draw. If the chances of it holding up are slim, then there is no difference between 24578 and 2457A. Might as well dump the 8 and draw to the 3 or 6.

If I could get the pot heads-up, then I'd most likely pat it...at least until I have reason to break it.

you should break your 8 if you're a bad player and don't need a deuce to make a 7.

if you're a good player, you should pat it.

riddle that one out smile.gif. and yes, dj sensei is retarded and doesn't understand how 2-7 works at all.

fwiw 4 is generally worthless for almost all non-he, non-plo games. this is more true of 2-7 than any other game.
