Looking for some input on playing this hand ... $50+4 tournament at Pokerroom, 111 players, we are down to 32 and 15 spots pay. Blinds are 150/300 and no ante.

I am sitting one from the button with ATo everyone folds to me, I raise to 1000 looking to steal the blinds.

Button folds, BOTH the SB and BB call, pot = 3000, my stack=3600, SB=3100, BB= 3200, no reads I just got moved to this table 2 hands ago.

Flop comes 47T rainbow, SB checks, BB bets 500 ....

Play is to me, what would you guys do, I will post what happened after some discussion.

Thanks in advance for your comments

i'd push allin, it's a smaller tourney where it's pointless just to make the money. You're playing for the top 3 spots. i suck at tournaments though

Couple questions for ya, others might think silly but actually to me mean something.

Is this a daily tourney, or the LKG? With you posting, it sounds like you ran into something weak lead, like 77. If it were the LKG, all-in. One of the daily 50+4s, raise to 1500 and go accordingly, I think.

It was the European Daily.

I think you can probably rule out JJ-AA here, cause I would think that they would have pushed preflop after you raised. At this point, calling your raise is a substantial part of their stack.

TT is really unlikely due to the T on the flop and the T in your hand. The only hand that I would be worried about here is 77. I think that you push here. BB is making a weak lead at the pot, which if I had a read on the player might make me think 77. But, you said you don't have a read. I would think that more likely he is trying to steal the pot with a hand like 66, 88,99, or maybe a big A (AK, AQ). I would bet that one has a small PP and one has AK or AQ. I think you're ahead way more of the times than your behind here, and you MIGHT get JJ or QQ to fold here. Probably not, but MAYBE.

What? How on Earth could JJ or QQ ever justify folding here? Never.

I would raise all-in as I think that you're ahead. I wouldn't call only because I don't want to give him a free card. I would hate to see a J, Q, or K show up on the turn.

He only called you bet, so he probably doesn't have a great hand. The min-raise allows him to fold cheaply if you raise hard.

If he flopped a set, then that's just bad luck and his min raise is basically a trap. But if it was me, I'd push.

i voted all in, if he has a monster hand he would more likely go for a checkraise, looks like a feeler bet to see if his hand is good.

Tends to be a better class of player in these tournies, I dunno. Curious to know what happened, I think raise to 1500 and act accordingly.

Alright, it looks like most people agree with the play I made ... it turns out the weak bet was not the one to worry about, I pushed allin, SB called, BB folds, SB turns over QQ ... bit of a ballsy play to smooth call with QQ after my raise, if an A or a K came on the flop he would have been a little less confident in calling my allin. Turn and river were blanks, I was blinded out of the tourney.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate them.
