Hold em game was more on tonight than it has been. I sit at a .10/.20 table at Absolute (I have enough to move up in limits but I'm trying to get enough to set some of my BR aside for tourneys and whatever.) Only table that;s not 6-max only has about 5 on it. Players are coming and going so it gets down to 4 the up to 6, etc.
4 handed, I pick up A-4 suited on the button. 1 fold so it makes it 3 handed. I raise. Is this ok? A 4 isn't strong but it figured to be favorite over the 2 blinds?
A 10 off in SB. 5 handed I think. I just complete because I hate raising with hands like A 10 in this position. I hit 2 pair on the flop. 2 hearts and various gut shot straight draws. I think about going for a c/r but bet it out anyway to make sure I don't give a free card. Would anyone c/r here?
4 handed, A 8 off in CO. I call, flop an Ace. 2 hearts again so I lead out. 3rd heart hits the board, I bet, 1 fold and 1 call. Blank hits the river and I check. A4 checks behind me. 2 questions- 1) should I be in w/ A 8. It's 4 handed so I figure an Ace is a decent hand. I wouldn't go crazy and be in with A2 off and such, but A 8 seems decently strong 4 handed. 2)I still get a caller when the 3rd heart hits, and I've been aggressive when I'm in a hand unless I just completely miss. So I check on the river in case he was trying to c/r. Should I bet it?
A 10 again from SB. I raise this time thinking it's the right play. I miss the flop and turn and getting 1 caller both streets, miss the river and check. He checks behind and was calling me down with a pair. I get pocket Aces on the button a few hands later and raise. He's BB and calls. Flop comes 10 10 7. he bets into me. He's been calling my PF raises down with any pair unless it's obvious he's beat. This play is odd. I raise probably calling then check/folding or calling down after that. He just calls the raise and calls down then mucks. I'm guessing he thought I didn't hit and wanted to chase me out. No real question here just wanted some feedback on his play here. I think I got it pretty much right w/ him thinking I just missed the board completely.
