Will be seeing them at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park next week. Been about 10 years or so since I last saw them and the grey/white hair with the Horatio Sanz body still freaks me out. Anyways, ummm setlists have looked decent from what I've seen. Will report when I return for those interested.

J Mascis has eaten too many pop tarts

Wow, they are still around? I saw them at Lollapalooza when Primus and Alice in Chains were the headliners. That was a loooong time ago.

Mascis guitar work on Thurston Moore's Tree's Outside the Academy is impressive.

Dino j's album Your Living All Over Me will always have a place in my library.

I wonder at what point they will have to drop the Jr. part of the name.

Probably when the Dinosaur copyright runs out in like 2029.

"You're Living All Over Me" is such a fantastic album. I still listen to "The Lung" in my car like once every other day.

Back from the show. Prolly loudest show I can recall going to. Mascis' setup was ludicrous for a tiny club but I digress it was pretty awesome.

Songs I remember off the top of my head (in no particular order)

In a Jar
Little Furry Things
The Wagon
Freak Scene
Feel the Pain
Out There

I'm still a bit buzzed and can't remember the others. For the encore they basically just took requests from the crowd.

Just Like Heaven
Raisins

etc...

Awesome show.

When first I saw this thread, I was laying 3:1 that Wang's "Dinosaur, Jr. ensemble" would make an appearance.

I wore my Dinosaur, Jr. t-shirt and a sport coat on a date tonight. She asked me if Dinosaur Jr. was the name of the baby on that sitcom about Dinosaurs from like 15 years ago, the one that said "NOT THE MAMA!"

Shockingly, the date went pretty well.

HAHAHAHA...

That's good stuff.

(Did you know the mother from Arrested Development was in that show? True story.)

Edit: I literally laugh, because I pictured you saying, "NOT THE MAMA" on the date.

The conversation went something like this:

Her: "You know? That show. The one with the dinosaur family, and there was that baby dinosaur?"

Wang: (stupid voice) "NOT the mama!"

Her: "Yeah! That one!"

Wang: "No." (Points to shirt) "This is not that."
