I have a Foosball table that was partly disassembled and I'm now putting it back together. My table set up has 3 defenders in the very back row and 3 attackers in the very front row. One bar of 3 has the players spaced out farther then the other bar of 3. Does anyone know which bar should be used for defense and which one for offense?

isn't there usually only 2 defenders? i would expect the wider ones to be the attackers.

My formation on the table starting from the back is: 3-2-5-3

From Goalie to Goalie it is usually 1-2-3-5-5-3-2-1 or 3-2-3-5-5-3-2-3 alternating teams as you go along.

I always thought the goalie and the attackers were equally spaced

Edit: Is one bar longer than the other?

Edit2: I believe the goalie is more spaced out.

Edit3: I miss foosball.

I thought it was always 5 in the middle.

No, I know... I meant the middle if you had both teams. Middle of the table I meant, not middle of the team.

My memory just might be bad though.

Edit: I saw your 3-2-3-5-5-3-2-3. That's what I was thinking.

I'm pretty sure my back 3 are spaced out more as it allows more shot blocking with the 2 in front of them,

I think that the 3 that are spread out the farthest are the defenders so you can dig the ball out of the corners.
If the corners of your table are ramped odds are if you set it up with the farther spaced defenders in the back, the defender will make contact with the ramp. If that's the case then you will know to flip flop the two bars with the three defenders.

It's tough to tell but here's a link to a website with a 3-2-5-3 configuration.

Promise, it's not a joke link. I just googled foosball configurations.
