Hell no I haven't forgotten, and I still want Bin Laden "brought to justice".
The History Channel will have a special tonight called 102 Minutes that Changed America. It's home video shot by people that day. Everybody should watch it.
The preview is

I was saying that an event like 9/11 being discussed in off topic forum, especially this off topic forum, could get awful. Hence I expected to see some really retarded stuff, then LG made me laugh, a lot.

We joke around a lot and give each other crap on here and that's all fine and fun... but this 9-11 event really doesn't sit well with me. I'm talking about the replaying of the viedo and the re-living of the event.
Without going into a lot of detail... it was an event that effected me personally... perhaps closer than most here. My ONLY tatoo is a tribute to the people who were killed that day. When I see that video and think of the mother fuckers responsible... I lose it. There are 2 memerials near my house today and I am not going to either because I just don't think I can handle it.
What a bunch of cowards.

Pretty much every day or so I have a moment where I look downtown. Usually it takes place around Washington Square park. Before, if you were on 5th ave right above the park, you could look over the arch and the towers were framed in this incredibly prefect way. Nearly every day for a second or two I have a moment where I consider, when I'm in one place or another, how well I could see the towers from that point. It's amazing how big they actually were and how much they dominated the Manhattan skyline.
If anyone wants to see a great movie, watch "Man on a Wire," which is a documentary about the guy who put a tight rope across the twin towers and walked it. Fantastic film.

I would argue that the people who made the happy 9/11 cake are infinitely less scummy than the people selling 9/11 memorabilia for profit.
I do feel sorry for the families of the people who died years ago, but there's a real point to be taken from the cake. the story has been perverted and twisted to such a huge extent that it doesn't mean what it did all those years ago. it may as well be another holiday to make happy cakes about.

Preach on brother.
9/11 is now for making money and getting ratings INSTEAD of honoring the dead.
Thinking that commemorative coins are a valid way to honor the dead is just plain stupid. It's a money making scheme.
Having shows showing people jumping out of the towers is not honoring the dead, it is exploitation.
Some of you need to get your heads out of your ass and realize 1 hour specials, replays of the tragedy and coins are NOT good ways to honor the death of so many innocent people killed in this tragedy.

Outside, its that strange sort of cloudy where the sky seems to be frothing like the sea and is moving much faster than you'd expect. It's thick and deep, and the moonlight is only able to break through occasionally.
The two columns of light shine up and fill the sky. When they first hit the clouds, small ripples of light flicker off and there is an eerie glow. But the light doesn't stop. It penetrates deep into the cloudy see and explodes outward. It looks more like the light is coming from two huge blasts within the sky itself and is conspiring to form two large, blue beams that shoot down and fall to the earth where the twin towers once stood in downtown Manhattan.
It's been seven years and I still haven't let my self sit down and actually consider what it must have been like to have died in the many ways that people died. I enjoy believing that people are genuinely good, and I believe that actually trying to fully emphasize with the situation could rock that belief.

If it said 'never forget' or one of those other bumper sticker marketing phrases, then everyone would forget it was a freakin cake, and that cake is celebratory.
