Any way you can post how much others went for in this auction?

once again u drafted RBs that dont catch the ball, u have no depth either...at least lynch is a workhorse and shouldnt miss many games.
Ted Ginn is still a very marginal receiver, u need to get some veterans WRs off the waiver and dump ur 3rd tier bench WRs

Wides aren't that important in this league and I usually pick up WR's when necessary on the waiver wire when match ups are good. Lynch actually was projected by ESPN to be worth 52 and most other backs went for much more. For example, LT 78, Peterson 73, Westbrook 71, Gore 61, etc.

without knowing how many teams there are (12?), what the scoring system is, and what the other teams look like, it's hard to say how well you did but I'll have to respectfully say, I don't like the look of your team. But, I've never done an auction draft so there's that caveat.
you do have a fairly solid three of Gates, Manning, and Johnson. I don't like your RBs at all though. I'm not saying your team is terrible, but doesn't look anything like a winner to me. You'll probably be in a fight for a playoff spot but that might be a stretch.

I actually like both of your RBs a lot. If I get Lynch and Grant in first and 2nd round I won't be upset, I won't be ecstatic, but it's not bad.
Sidney Rice and Ronald Curry > Ted Ginn IMO.
Edit: How does it work anyways? Are there still draft positions? I assume there are a few guys people would be willing to pay 1 for but since someone already bid 1 they weren't willing to bid 2. So I'm assuming it is still snake order of saying a player and then a $ amount willing to spend?

I said Cantu. I think NO and WAS are better this year than last. His flex is his weak spot but better than Daniel's by far. Harrison won't miss most of the season again so Gonzalez probably won't do much. A bargain at $1 though.
Postle's team is pretty good too and it's probably a toss up between this team and Cantu for first. Roy Williams (not Williamson) just needs to stay healthy and he's got two number one wideouts. McFadden could be the difference for this team. But, Parker and Young are why I put him second.

You ask for my opinion and I gave it to you. You can't handle the truth so u start trashing me, i get it.
Right now, you have the 4th or 5th best team in your division, knowing that the top 2 in each division advance, I dont see how u could advance no matter what the scoring system is.
Ryan Grant wont have the season he had last season without Favre, Packers wont win as many games and will abandon the run in lot of games compare to last season when they had the lead and would run the ball to kill the clock. That scenario may apply to Lynch as well.
Tedd Ginn has no good QB to throw him the ball so i think he will struggle a bit, he is not a starting WR in a 10 league format imo.
Gates is doubtful to start the season on time.
Your Flex is a second year WR
your bench is weak
Andre Johnson and Payton Manning will be great but they cant carry your team.
I think you will give up on your team after week 4-5 just like you gave up on your baseball team in 2007. The only Fantasy sport i wouldn't want to compete against you is Hockey but I would take you on any other Fantasy sports with a decent scoring system. You are welcome to sign up to fanball leagues and compete against me in football, basketball, hockey, nascar, football.
I didnt mean to trash you by saying better luck next year but it is clear to me that u wont make the playoff with your current team. You Probably need to make 3-4 waiver moves and maybe 1 big trade to be competitive and make the playoffs.

Ginn isn't really my starter at WR. I plan on starting different WR's almost every week totally based on match ups. Match ups at WR are often way more important than the players skill level, hence I wasn't really worried about being deep at WR. Gates WILL be ready for game 1, there you are just plain wrong. As for my FLEX, again that is a player that will rotate, but Gonzalez is primed to have an excellent season in a great offense. As for my bench, I have two backs that are slated to start week 1. Chris Perry is slated to start for Cinncy and Ray Rice will start at least until McGahee is healthy. Both have upside, and since my starters aren't hurt (yet) that's exactly what I want on my bench.
Also, in terms of bad teams you can't have it both ways. Miami will trail, which means they will likely pass MORE increasing his value. I disagree on Grant. Grant will be relied on heavily as is usually the case with rookie QB's. Also, this rookie QB is inheriting a pretty good team and he isn't guaranteed to be a huge drop off from Brett Favre.
Lynch and Ginn are in a great division. NE is trouble, but the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets play each other twice. Thats a plus for me when using Lynch and Ginn. That's 4 full games against weak teams not in including games against weaker teams from other divisions.
As I said before, I'll bet that my team finishes third or better. As for your Cantu prediction to finish dead last, most people that voted actually picked his team to win the division.

You have the worst 2 RB of all 5 teams, andre johnson is ur only quality receiver (gates will be good too). You will hope for injuries so your bench players get quality time.
As far as the bet is concerned, you can pm me and we can talk about it but i dont have hundreds to gamble so it probably wont be motivating enough for u. I would need to get more info on the league though, such as scoring system and such.

Yeah, Chris Perry will help for sure and that is good news for DN. However, he still has holes in his team and needs to hit the waive wire pronto or trade andre johnson for two flex players if he wants to make the playoffs. Chris Perry is not even a top 15 RB.

check out Brown stats the two seasons before he got hurt.
Brown was really awesome before he got hurt last season. Ricky Williams is an average RB right now and runs too hard that he will probably get hurt in the first 4-5 weeks. As a matter of fact, Williams came back last season and got hurt for the rest of the season after only carrying the ball 6 times.

Anthony Gonzalez is the #5 option on offense (Wayne, Harrison, addai, clark) and Ray Rice is a rookie behind McGahee (who is a baller and has only missed 3 games in the last 3 seasons. He had the 8th most carries last season too so i dont see rice getting much touches unless McGahee gets hurt obv).

When developing a bench I look for a combination of decent vets that might end up in good match ups, as well as some rookies or second year players that have the potential to bust out. That's what I accomplished.
Ronald Curry and Isaac Bruce represent the older WR who, if healthy will put up a decent number of fantasy points. James Hardy (hurt) and Sidney Rice also have some upside, with S. Rice being the #2 guy in MIN. Anthony Gonzalez also fits into the mix somewhere down the line, but he won't play for me unless the match up for INDY is sweet.
At RB I have two guys that I'm depending on: Lynch and Grant. If either gets hurt I have Perry who has been given a starting job in Cincy. On top of that, Ray Rice will also start the season as a starter until McGahee comes back. When he does, Ray Rice will still get some carries.
I like my team more now than I did even two weeks ago. Hardy has been a disappointment, but then I realized that I have several mediocre WR options that I'll plug in when they match up well. Laugh about Curry and Bruce all you want, but they don't suck nearly as back as people might think. Manning and Gates look healthy, Andre Johnson is "pretty good" so I feel good about the way things look. In fact, I think the OTHER division is tougher than this one.

Not to nitpick, as I'm not sure how your league scores (and I'm really, really not a fantasy guy) but I don't know that there's any WR in San Francisco that's going to put up decent fantasy points, let alone old man Bruce and his walker.

Is it a TE/WR flex or a WR/RB flex? If WR/RB, you should have got more RB's, and tried to start one at flex. Since you are in a league where RB's are more important that WR's, I would have spent your Andre Johnson money on trying to secure another good runner that is undervalued, like earnest graham or something. Or maybe have played QB Roulette and passed on manning. Your team is nice on the whole, however. I've always wanted to do an auction, but my friends are all women.

It's a WR/RB flex but the projections for this week have Hardy, Rice, and Johnson ahead of either Perry or Rice. I considered starting Perry, but he's play Baltimore- yuk. Rice is playing against Cincy strangely enough and might make sense. Hardy is apparently projected for a TD at least this week... I'm just going with the team the experts have said to pick at this point.

Oh absolutely, I was just more talking about draft tactics.. at this point, you have to play your best available guys, regardless of position. I'm just saying, in a league with rb/wr flexing, I make a third quality running back a priority, so I don't have to play WR/ journeyman running back roulette. Im just saying your team would be alot stronger if you had like earnest graham as your flex, and someone like Kurt Warner as your QB ( whom I got in the last round of my draft, obv brag post)

You obviously didn't read my blog where I said I was going for 3 RB's and a Jay Cutler type at QB with no stron WR's lol. That was the plan but I got stuck with Manning and then got Johnson at good value. Plus the other owners drove up the RB prices way too high off the top.

Yeah, I dont' think i've read your blog since the world series ended, no offense. What do you mean, "got stuck with manning" Were you trying to like stick E-Dog or Gavin with an overpriced manning, but they quit bidding before you thought they would? owned.
Your season's going to hinge on Manning, obviously. If he has another season like last year or worse ( and by "worse" I mean from a fantasy stand point, IE running more with Addai) you could be in some serious trouble. How ever, if he has a normal " manning" type season, then you got excellent value. It seams to me that you have 4 second round picks ( IE manning, grant, lynch and johnson) but no first rounders. Seems like a sensible team to me.

start ginn imo. im not a huge dolphin fan but pennington might be out to prove a point to the jets, just like culpepper did to miami last year in the oak/mia matchup.
p.s. what were you thinking when you called D.B. on HSP in the 500k+ cash game w/ T9o on a T83 board when he bet out 38k on the flop =P and then raised on the turn. lololol as you can see exactly what im watching at this present moment! lol

Here is what I'm thinking about going with for week 1. Anyone think I should make a change to this lineup?
I would start bruce, Gin, Curry or even Gonzalez over hardy. Bryant Johnson is still hurt and bruce should "normally" see some passes against a bad D - Arizona. Hardy is still a rookie and wont start for sure. He is 3rd string right now.
Bills WR James Hardy (hamstring) started Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions.
The Bills didn't play any of their starters, so this strongly indicates that Hardy will not run out with the first-team offense on opening day. Hardy caught two passes for 30 yards and appears healthy.source:

more bad news:
Despite practicing fully this week, Antonio Gates (foot) expects to be limited in the Chargers' regular season opener.
"I won't start the game, obviously, but (we're) just trying to monitor the situation," Gates said, "depending how it feels when I get out there. Sunday will definitely tell the tale and give me a clear picture of what I can do in the game." We'd still start him in fantasy leagues, but Gates may not see a full slate of snaps if his toe doesn't feel 100% Sunday morning.
other team news:
Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron says that Willis McGahee (knee) could be a game-time decision against the Bengals in Week 1.
"He's getting close," Cameron said. "Whether that'll mean this week or not, I don't know." FB LeRon McClain could get some carries behind Ray Rice if McGahee can't play. McGahee has practiced on a limited basis this week. The teams square off in a 1PM ET game, so we'll know McGahee's status early
Ronald Curry is locked in as the Raiders' starting flanker following Drew Carter's season-ending knee injury.
Oakland is left with zero depth out wide and needs Javon Walker to stay healthy, even if he won't be able to separate. Curry projects to lead the Raiders in targets, probably by a long shot. 70 catches is a reasonable goal.
The NY Daily News confirms that rookie Dwight Lowery will likely be the Jets' starting right cornerback this week.
Justin Miller (toe) may be inactive. Lowery's main responsibility will likely be Ted Ginn, who could be good for a few big receptions on Sunday.

I stuck with Ray Rice and he's having an ok game... until the fumble at least. My opponent BENCHED Willie Parker so I have a 7 point lead early on, 31-24

Who had brady? Lemme guess... Hellmuth way over paid for him?
And who did that guy start over parker at flex? what a blunder.

Going into Monday night I lead 54-53. I have both Ryan Grant and Sidney Rice yet to play and he has only Selvin Young . Young scares me a little bit, but I have to feel good about the situation.
Even better for me: the Brady injury for all my big prop bets. Gavin has him and I have bets with him. E-DOG has Randy Moss and you'd have to think this will hurt Moss' numbers. Aside from that, Lynch's value goes up a bit I think as Buffalo matches up better against NE now obviously and won't get blown out... GOOOOO BILLS FTW!

Ryan Grant-RB- Packers Sep. 7 - 9:39 am et
Ryan Grant (probable, hamstring) returned to practice Saturday, but the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel says backup Brandon Jackson will play "a lot."
So what does a "a lot" mean? Grant didn't take a preseason carry, so it makes sense the Packers may ease him into the lineup. We still expect him to easily lead the Packers in touches. Considering the matchup, this makes him a dicier RB2 play, but we'd only bench him if you have another true top-15 option.
I had selvin young last season and he is capable of going 80 Yards rushing and 50-60 Yards receiving with a couple TDs against the Raiders.
You will probably need 50-60 yards from Rice.
good luck
