No strategy just a situation at our home game; Dealers choice $.5/$1 PLO and NLHE with 2/4 Stud Stud8 & Limit HE

PLO

Villain has 889K

Hero has 22AQ

Final board reads

33739 no flushes possible

Check check on turn and river

Villain flips 9K and throws his other two at the muck so he has 9933K (two pair)
Hero flip 22 for 33322 (3s full of 2s)

Hero starts dragging pot when villain claims he has 3s full of 8s and attempts to play them after collecting from the muck

Hero says F-no cards speak but villain mucked the two that beat... I just want verication that Hero wins the pot

Thanks

AFAIK, technically if he mucked two cards he hasn't got a complete hand so even if he shows A3 his hand is dead.

But yeah, if he mucked the 88 your hand wins.

Ya, the cards speak when you turn your hand over for everyone to see. The muck is a cone of silence. Hero gets the pot.
Pdiddydog
You are correct sir.
Biff Goods
yup....and he has to turn over all four cards to play just as if it was hold'em and someone turned over Q for a pair of queens...they can't muck there 3 underneath.....

If you muck one card in holdem, I think your hand is dead. I'm pretty sure you are forced to show both cards to win at showdown, regardless of whether you use both or not.

Yup, one of the things, in any game, that kills a hand is not having the correct number of cards in it. Especially if it has too many...
