First big screw up, DO NOT SHOW ME VILLAN'S HOLE CARDS!!. You have no idea how much this skews people's thinking, even if like me, they attempt to block it out. I couldn't stop myself from peeking over.

*Disclaimer* I don't play HU stud 8 much. HU stud 8 tends to reduce itself to "Stud Hi with a hint of 8 or better", and I'm not at all very experienced at stud hi.

If I suspect villian of being a steal-donk on 3rd, I'm probably popping him there. If you take control of the hand on 3rd, all the subsequent streets might play out differently being that you have the betting lead. I like the raise on 5th in general, but even more so if you think villian has a wide range there and is calling still.

Like gfdsa said, i'd like to raise earlier in the hand, maybe 4th as he'll be confused as to your direction if you raise there. Could raise 3rd too if he raises ATC.

PL I definitely fold 4th, and limit Id strongly consider it. For the 3rd st. raise villain has an A or K and you dont have a great high hand or much chance of a low suck out.

5th st raise? What do you think youre beating, a busted low that raised with a K door card?

The only redeeming factor is his play was worse than yours!

Come on man, in HU stud-hi, it's standard to defend with a pair, and in hi-lo, our coordinated low board may make some villains fold incorrectly.

I'm guessing you don't play much HU stud?

Pot Limit Stud 8 really? I play alot of Stud 8 and feel its one of my better games. First he was a complete and utter donk who played badly on the heavier streets, I just called on 3rd for this reason. Second I knew when he was trying to run over me. It made no sense why he would bet on 5th into that board, he either had some kind of gigantic hand or nothing. I leaned toward nothing based on instinct.

Since I can't post results all I will say is I didn't lose the pot and he didn't win the pot icon_biggrin.gif
