I'd say that's the best thing that could happen to the jets but with pennington as a backup its all a wash

With all the bull shit Favre has perpetrated the past few weeks, I even think what I posted is too good for him.

I frankly couldn't care less about the Jets, I'm just concentrating on how big of a douche Favre is.

Are there any Jets fans in NY/NJ? Just found it weird that all the Jets fans in here were in different locations.

He is a huge douche and I have lost a ton of respect for him

However, what's this I just saw on ESPN? Breaking News? The Jets have now in turn, traded Favre to the Bucs?!?!?!?!?!
Naismith
If any Favre believers want to make some prop bets on this upcoming season, I am open to the non-believer side of the bets. smile.gif

On behalf of the Bears, we would love you have you play for us, Mr. Pennington. (It can't get much worse, can it?)

How did Favre become the bad guy in this? He was basically forced to retire by GB when he wasn't sure and they wanted an answer. He gave them one and regretted it. He still wanted to play and they want to move on. Not saying Favre was a saint or anything but he was no worse than anyone in the Packers organization on this whole thing.

Pennington is on the same skill level of a Grossman or Orton. Either way, your team is not going to be a winner based on QB play.

Why does everyone blame Favre for all this? I understand him wanting to unretire and I understand the principle of the team already moving forward with Aaron Rodgers and not going back. It's the Packers who dropped the ball on this one because they wouldn't release or trade him sooner. I think the Pack were right in not letting him go to a division team though. They just screwed up by releasing false info about the situation (i.e. team issued cell phone call to the Vikes).

It's not like the Packers are saying Rodgers is better than Favre...they are just saying they already moved on and I can respect that. I think Brett understood that point even though he didn't like it. I believe he was okay not playing for GB anymore.

Catch 22 anyway you look at it.

Yes thats the ticket. Trade for a noodle-armed QB to throw through the wind and cold at Soldier Field.

I wonder if Favre's agent ever tried to backdoor a deal to the Vikings by having the Packers trade him to the Bucs or Jets first.

Pennington will probably be cut from what I read, so it would be Clemons as the backup.
