i know this is a omaha8 hand, but lets pretend its a high hand. there is a low component at play here, but im curious how to handle this from a high perspective.

you can assume that utg+1 made a c-bet like he would a very large percentage of the time here.

the co suck and his call doesn't mean that much to me except that he probably doesn't have the ace high flush.

its like, folding here sucks, but if i put more money in im going to be putting money in behind.

meh, in these spots I know it sucks but it's best to just fold. If you're not already behind, you will be if the board pairs.

how about the fact though that its less than a pot sized raise to put them both in?

what's calling you if you put them in?

Just seems like a "slightly ahead or WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY behind" type situation

I actually call or raise a bit here to squeeze the low draws. Are villains going to repop you with naked A or low draws?

Disclaimer: I don't play PLO8 and am only marginally good at PLO.

Meh, if I'm playing for half the pot, I like to have the nuts or a draw to the nuts. I am happy taking a flop with that hand, but I am looking to hit some sort of broadway or overfull...

...That being said, we are only three-handed on the button and are only facing a half-pot lead and a call. I suggest calling here. I see no reason to raise because this is a WA/WB situation and we have position. Sure, this may allow a low draw to stick around and steal half the pot when a low card falls, but you could easily escape the hand if the board pairs and you can limit your loss if you happen to be facing the nuts with the low redraw.

I don't know if the Omaha Hi-Lo forum here gets any traffic, but you really can't "look at the hand from a high perspective" when there are two low cards out. It's going to play completely differently.

If this weren't hi-lo, you'd just call with the intention of getting stacks in later. I don't think that can be your line in a hi-lo game though. I'd either raise to shut out the low draws or call with the intention of folding any low or pairing turn other than the A icon_suit_heart.gif . Unfortunately, I never play PLO8 so I really don't know which one is correct.

I think I like a min raise here personally
