So like a month ago, I was able to get rid of some viruses and trojans off my computer with the help from Gatortom64. My computer since then has been running at a good speed, however there are still a few problems.

Seems like some of my applications have been disabled, when I click on Windows Media Player, the popup reads "An internal error has occured." When I try starting AIM, the menu will popup and disappear within a second. Firefox is working fine, but in Internet Explorer, the Java doesn't work despite all the settings being on for it.

Has anyone experienced similar problems or can help me out?

Uninstall Media player & download WMP 11. Uninstall & re-load AIM (all contacts should still be there). You have an add-on disabled in IE.

Yes... EXACTLY the same problem.
Couldn't watch videos on YouTube if using IE

I wiped the comp clean and did a full restore. All is fine now.

How do you uninstall media player? Through control panel>add/remove programs?

And I already have uninstalled/reinstalled AIM a few times, it still does the same problem of disappearing a second after you launch it.

On IE, all my things aswell as Java are enabled and nothing is disabled yet still having this problem.

Reinstall or update IE?

I'm not exactly sure HOW this fixed my problem, but awhile ago I was having a problem where Windows Media Player wouldn't open at all. I found these steps on some forum, and it worked like a charm. (BTW, I have Vista and WMP11)

1. Click Start, click Accessories, the right click on Command Prompt and choose "run as administrator", then type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then hit enter.

2. Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll then hit enter.

3. Now type exit and hit enter. Now try media player and it should work.

Wow, idk how but that actually worked!! thanks a ton.

Now can anyone figure out whats wrong with my AIM?

I'm guessing it's a similar problem to the WM Player since it won't launch up right.

And I'm running XP.

very strange... so out of nowhere about 15min ago, my AIM started working fine and IE is running good as well with java

Pretty suprising and weird to see both apps running normally again out of nowhere.
