Also the first comment is a joke--which doesn't suggest that all terrorists are Arabs or Muslims, in fact it suggests that purposefully stopping Middle Eastern "looking" people is probably a poor way to randomly catch a terrorist.

Most "terrorists" are not Middle Eastern... Many of the terrorists we are currently concerned with are Middle Eastern--There are many many more countries in the world and terrorism exists in many forms (particularly depending on whose point of view you're using)...

Maybe I missed it but I don't know if anyone commented on the announcer spouting off "Show tunes must be going off in Daniel's head" during the WPT show a while back when he flopped a great hand.

Not that there's anything wrong with show tunes. But without trying to offend anyone, when mentioned in context relating to the male gender, it usually implies that perhaps the male being referred to may be exibiting a bit more of his feminine side than what is usually considered hetero.

The announcer's name escapes me right now, but he has used the term "...going off in his/her head" in a way that usually generalizes where the player is from or their percieved actions.

I just wonder if this particular announcer was trying to generalize his opinion of how he percieves Daniel.

Also, while it is true that US is focusing on middle eastern terrorists at the present time, that in no way means that most of the terrorism in the world comes from arabs. The definition of terrorist, no matter how you look at, is not: person who wants to hurt the US.

Honestly though, I was very slightly tweaked by his comments regarding "Ahmed" and "black guy". But once I put the entire article into perspective I didn't get any impression that DN is in any way racist. In fact, the entire frist section of one of those 2 articles talks about how Toronto is a melting pot which gave him a respect for all cultures. His choice of words may have been a little skewed, but they certainly didn't lend themselves to painting him a racist.

Your comments are completely uncalled for. Daniel is not making remarks in either of the journal articles you mentioned that are even remotely linked to racism. It is because of the attitude of people like you that there are so many unneccessary lawsuits regarding discrimination in our court systems today. Not that some aren't warranted, but the "cry racism" mindset has got to go. We are all God's children and He loves us all equally.
